|CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE|
"Yes Nikki. I now know that Thomas is alive! He is alive! Please. Please help me find him?"
"I don't know Emily. I make no promises, but I will help."
"Thank you! Thank you!" I ran up to Nikki and hugged her really tightly.
Nikki broke from the hug and I returned to my seat. "Shouldn't you get home right now? Sean is really furious that you left without informing him."
"Eh. Who cares? Either way, I am in a lose-lose situation. Sean will always end up finding me." I shrugged and laid back on my seat. "Well.. Maybe I should get going. Well, bye Nik. See you later."
Nikki bid me goodbye as I walked towards my car. I just arrived from my flight about an hour ago. I was still deciding if I shall go to my parent's house or back to Sean's condo. At the end, I gathered up all my courage and drove to the condominium.
I dragged my luggage behind me towards the elevator. As the doors opened at my designated floor, I took a gulp. Standing in front of me is a really messed up-looking Sean. He looked like he just woke up. Dark circles and eye bags were conspicuous. His hair was disheveled, and so was his clothes. He stared daggers at me with a deep frown instead of a smile.
"Where had you been, Emily?"
I exited out of the elevator. "Uh- duh. I went to my parent's house. Didn't I told you I'd be there? Duh..."
"Or maybe you went and stayed at Brandon's mansion, I bet!" He raised an eyebrow while folding his arms.
"What? I wasn't at Brandon's mansion! I went to Washington!" I protested, and my eyes widened on what I had just revealed. I just revealed my true location from the past two days.
Sean smirked. "Tricked you. I knew you went to Washington, by the way."
"How would you know? I only told Nikki and my parents...."
"I have my ways, Emily. I will always know. Now, why were you at Washington? I am pretty sure you have no one to visit there since Angela is at UPEN and mother and father are in Miami. Who did you visit? I mean, where did you visit?"
"Yeah. So what if I went there? Clingy much? I don't need to tell you where I always have to go. Do I ever ask you where you went?"
Sean grabbed my arm and pulled me towards our room. "That is not the point! You went to Washington and back to that hospital, didn't you? You are trying to find Thomas behind my back!"
"Sean. Let go of my arm. You are hurting me!" I tried to wriggle my arm out of his grasp, yet it was too tight.
"Until you tell me why. Why are you trying to find Thomas behind my back? Why couldn't you have just told me? I would have helped you, you know?"
"That's it! I know you know, yet I am absolutely sure you are just saying that for no reason. You are just going to lead me to nowhere. Now drop the innocent act, because I know you are the reason why Thomas disappeared. You hid him!" I managed to escape from Sean's grasp. I entered the room and threw myself on the couch.
"Now tell me. Why did you even hide Thomas? Don't you love him? I mean, he is your son anyways. Why?" I stared at him, waiting for him to pipe up his answer.
"I have my reasons. I just have to tell you one thing. You do not know everything." With that, he spun on his heel and marched towards the door. Before he left, he turned around and added, "By the way, Brandon wouldn't be working with you anymore." He exited the bedroom, leaving me pondering on what he just told me.
