|CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO|

"This is the place," I said as I looked at the towering mansion in front of me. "You can go now if you wish, Nikki."

"Nu-uh. I am staying here. Just in case trouble comes in, I will be right by your side. Alright?" Nikki said a she positioned herself on the side of the car with folded arms on her chest.

"Ok fine then. Stay here. It may take a while since he and I have alot to talk about."

"It's fine. I can wait. Now go!" Nikki ushered me forward, leading me to tumble forward a little. "Sorry!"

I glared back towards Nikki. She replied with a sheepish grin. I averted my direction to the entrance and stopped at the gate.

"Excuse me ma'am but may I know your reason for visit?" asked the guard.

"Hello Robert! Remember me? The girl who threw pie at you and tied you behind a moving truck about ten years ago?" I smirked at Robert's shocked expression.

'Emily?! Is that you?!" Robert exclaimed and I nodded. He rushed towards me in an embrace. "It had been a long time since I last saw you. You have grown... a lot! Beautiful as always! I missed you!"

"I missed pranking you also, Robert," I chortled. "Is Brandon home?"

"Yeah he is. Would you like to see him?"

"Yeah. I need to talk to him."

"Alright. Gor right in. The maids will tell you the rest of the directions. Nice seeing you again, Emily!"

"Thanks Robert," I said. I walked up the long driveway to the front of the house. Before I can ring the bell, the door swung open revealing an elegant-looking, middle-aged lady. She eyed me suspiciously before pulling me into a hug.

"Emily! Oh dear! It nice to see you!"

"Nice to see you again Mrs.Smith."

"Darling. Didn't your forget? Call me Mamita. And come inside!" She ushered me inside and lead me to hpthe living room. I chuckled at Mrs.Smith's idea of what I should call her. Mamita. Yeah I forgot.

"Sonia!" called Mamita. A young lady came out from a room and rushed towards Mamita.

"Yes?"

"Please bring some refreshments for Emily," ordered Mamita.

"Yes ma'am." With that, Sonia rushed into the kitchen to get some food.

"What brings you here Emily? It had been six years since I last saw you."

Suddenly, Sonia came in carrying a tray of apple juice and some pasteries. I took a flaky cinnamon bun and sunk my teeth into its sweetness. I moaned at its deliciousness on my tongue. I heard Mamita chuckle.

"Same Emily," she laughed.

I swallowed the bits and cleared my throat with the juice. "I came here to see Brandon. I need to speak to him. It is really important," I said.

"Brandon is up stairs. Wait. Let me call Sonia to lead you," she said. "Sonia!"

"Yes ma'am?"

"Help escort Emily upstairs to Brandon's room," ordered Mamita.

"But ma'am. Uh, Brandon... He is kinda... Busy," replied Sonia in a trembling voice.

"I don't care if he is busy. Lead Emily now," stated Mamita with finality. With no more complaints, Sonia lead me up the polished, marble staircase into a hallway.

"Brandon's room is the door to right at the end," directed Sonia. "But ma'am. I am telling you. Brandon has something going on right now. I don't think it is a good time. He doesn't want to be bothered. He may fire me."
