"Look! It's gonna catch on fire." Nicole says. Nicole, Jeremy, and I were roasting marshmallows. Jeremy takes his out as I do. I frown because mine is burnt.
"Here," he says giving me his perfectly roasted marshmallow. I smile at him and take a bite of it. He examines my burnt marshmallow. He takes off the burnt outside and eats it.
"Thanks," I say and try roasting another one.
"Don't put it in the fire, but above it. Then turn it every so often." He grins at me showing my how with his own. He's so intent on telling me how as I do it that he forgets about his. We take ours out at the same time. Mine is perfectly crisp while his is burnt. I let out a laugh and put mine on a graham cracker with chocolate on it. S'mores in the winter, mm so good.
I burn my mouth and jump up. I run into the kitchen where the boys are. I run to the fridge and pull out a water so I can cool my mouth down. I let out a gasp of air and realize that Kris and Wade are watching me.
I smile and take another drink. I haven't really talked to Wade since when he pulled up my shirt. I've been told I have a nice body, but it was kind of mean how he didn't want to look. I roll my eyes at the thought and go back into the living room, but Wade's arm hooks around my waist.
Kris leaves the room and I glare at his back as he exits the room. Wade pulls me down so I'm siting on his legs.
"You're ignoring me." He says. I shake my head.
"No." I say, well I'm not ignoring him I just haven't started a conversation with him. He rolls his eyes and brings me closer to him so my chest is against his. I suck in a breath, he does something crazy to me. Good kind of crazy.
He lets out a sigh, "sure seems like it. What did I do?" He asks.
"You didn't do anything." I say giving him a smile.
"I only pulled up your shirt because I don't want Jermey looking. He will go after anything he can get." He states.
"You think I'm easy?" I scoff. I push off him and go back into the living room. What a jerk. Wow. I didn't think he thought so lowly of me.
I sit down next to Nicole and Jeremy, where I was sitting earlier. I sit pretzel style and watch the fire crack and burn.
"We should tell scary stories!" Nicole says. I look at Phoebe who looks like she needs to go out.
"I'm gonna take Phoebe out." I say grabbing the dog and a flashlight. I grab the coat Jeremy let me use earlier and slip out the door. The cold hits me like a punch and I can't defend myself with anything other than this warm jacket.
I let Phoebe go to the bathroom as I step on the walkway. It's already got another half foot of snow. It hasn't let up and the winds are getting heavier.
I hum to Kesha's new song about Praying. I kick the snow and keep kicking it. I see someone walk down the street. I grab Phoebe and grip the flashlight. This person looks familiar.
I walk toward the road and catch the attention of the person. "Rhys?" They ask. It's Aiden. I Bebe did text him back. I walk across the road so I can be closer to him.
"Aiden! What are you doing out here walking around?" I ask. He stops on front of me. He's wearing a coat and dark blue jeans.
"Just going on a walk. I got really bored in the house and my roommate has his girlfriend over. Really annoying." He laughs.
"That sucks. Sorry I didn't text you back earlier, I was busy with the crowd inside. And I do still have my toes, but I should ask you now." I point to his feet. He wiggles his feet and nods his head.
