Chapter 19 Mink route pt.2

           Mink and Zorakuba drove silently towards their destination, Zorakuba having no idea where that may be.  As he was thinking this, his coil went off.  "Hm?....wait a minute...this is..." Zorakuba trailed off as he look at the message displayed on the screen of his coil.
      Mink looked over at him and frowned as he saw.  "An invitation...to Platinum Jail?" Zorakuba said to himself.  Mink spoke after a moment.  "It's probably a trap..." He says calmly as Zorakuba examines the invite.  "Maybe we can use this....to get closer to Toue," Zorakuba says as he stares at the invite.  Mink nods in agreement before looking at Zorakuba, him not noticing since he was busy looking at his coil.
        Zorakuba pauses before glancing at Mink.  "....Is something wrong?" Zorakuba asks Mink quietly.  Mink looks away, responding only with a grunt.  This confused Zorakuba a little bit, but he decided not to pry Mink for information.  He probably wouldn't answer, and if he did start asking or prying Mink might get mad.  He doesn't want to make him mad since he is in no condition to fight him one on one yet. 
        The car ride continued silently before the two got out, and then they travelled to Platinum Jail.  Zorakuba was kind of terrified of a man in a panda suit, feeling he was way too happy.  "This place is kind of overwhelming with all the things they have here....Im not used to this many people," Zorakuba comments as he looks around, Chef on his shoulder.
      Mink and Zorakuba were walking down the street on their way towards the place they'll be staying, Lotus.  (I made that one up but it looks like any other place seen in the game)  Zorakuba talked sometimes to Mink, Mink responding with short words or nods.  Mink occasionally talked too but he seemed distracted by the Platinum Jail.  More specifically, the tall tower in the center of Platinum Jail...
       As they walked, the monitors and screens lit up with a message from Toue.  He stood in the main screen as he spoke in a joyful tone, but Zorakuba assumed it was fake.
       "Welcome all of you to Platinum Jail.  I am happy to announce that in one week we will have a special event for the tenth anniversery of this special place.  And tonight I will share a preview of that," Toue says happily before fireworks come from the oval tower and bright holograms of the mascot and other things appear around the area, leaving everyone starring and staying still.
       This confused Zorakuba but as the music started playing he felt a sudden heart beat in his head and his eyes widened.  "Gah!" He held his head slightly with one hand as a piercing headache hit him.
       Zorakuba closed his eyes tightly as he shook his head, trying to get the piercing sounds that cut into his head like knives.  Everything was blurring, and in the distance he heard the concerned voice of Chef before his vision faded to black.

     Zorakuba woke up sometime later in a strange bed.  The sheets were warm and fluffy and the bed and sheets were soft.  He felt comfortable, and his headache was gone.  Zorakuba didn't want to get up but he forced himself to sit up.  He grumbled and rubbed his eyes before sitting Chef on the pillow next to him.
    He picked him up and turned him on as he walked out of his room.  Zorakuba set him on his shoulder and walked down the stairs as he thought to himself 'What happened and how did I get here?'  As he was thinking this he got to the bottom of the stairs and saw Mink sitting in the living room.
     His back was facing him as he sat on the couch, watching the tv infront of him.  As Zorakuba got closer he could see that he was frowning, angrily watching the tv, which had Toue talking about how great the place was and all that nonsense.
       Zorakuba leaned over the back of the couch slightly and tapped Mink's shoulder. "You alright?" Zorakuba asked him as Mink looked back at him.  His expression seemed to relax alittle bit as he saw Zorakuba.  "I'm fine..." He says in a monotone voice.  Zorakuba nodded a bit before tilting his head as he watched Toue.
     "Disgusting...all he talks about is Platinum Jail and how great it is....but it's all fake...." Zorakuba mutters under his breath, Mink overhearing it.  Mink nods in response as he stares at Zorakuba again, Zorakuba once again feeling like Mink is testing him or analyzing him.
     "Im.....gonna go make food..." He says quietly after a moment as he walks briskly into the kitchen.  Zorakuba felt strange.  As he entered the kitchen, Chef twitched his tail.  "Zorakuba, your heart rate has increased and your thoughts have scattered-" "You don't need to say stuff like that!" He snapped back at Chef flusterdly, only making him chuckle a bit.
        In reality, Zorakuba didn't want to know or hear what he was feeling.  Lately he's been getting these strange feelings when he's around Mink.  He assumed he was just feeling intimidated and nervous around Mink since he was...well confusing.  Unlike the others, Zorakuba couldn't tell what he was feeling or thinking.
       Zorakuba shook his head to get rid of these thoughts as he got out a pan and some ingredients.  He figured he'd make grilled chicken with veggies on the side.  It was simple and easy to make.
       Zorakuba started to chop the veggitables, which consisted of asparagus and carrots.  He put the carrots into one bowl while he placed the asparagus in a pot of water, boiling it for a few minutes.  He continued to cook, unaware of eyes watching him from the door silently with a thoughtful glint in them.
       Mink stood there watching him for a moment before walking back out to the livingroom.  He frowned as he sat down, feeling conflicted.  Zorakuba was someone created by Toue, yet Mink didn't feel any resentment or hatred for him.  This was confusing him, but he knew he would keep his distance and not get to close to Zorakuba.  It'd be better for both of them.  Or so he thought.
