Brian's POV
I woke up to the sound of the alarm. Funny, I didn't even set it. Huh? Odd. I looked down. Sophie was not there. I think she was downstairs with my mother. I went to the door and I heard the laughter of my mother. Yep, she was with her. That's good. A little family bonding. I went to the bathroom and took my shower.
After that I went downstairs and saw my mother chatting with her. "Good morning Brian!" Said Mother happily. "Good morning, mom, Sophie. How are you today?" I said as I sat down on the chair. I ate my breakfast. It was eggs and toast, the usual.
"Today, we are going to register Sophie to the new school." She said. "Ok." I said. "I have a meeting and I will not be able to show her around so...you will do it for me ok?" She said. I nodded in response. I quickly ate my food and we head to school by car. Father was not following us. He had a tough time at work so he will be resting. I can understand that and I am not even angry for that. Just a bit down. At least she didn't mind.
Time Skipped To School
"This is your new school. Here you will learn all the knowledge that exists in this very earth." She said with full of might. Mothers what can I say? Very motivated on every good occasion.
We went inside and went to the principal office. From there she registered and will be in my class. That's good. From there she will need my guidance and even if she is not, I will ask anyway. Consider lucky I guess. That's good.
"Alright, let's go to your locker. You need to put all of those stuffs in it in order to put less weight on you." I said, showing her around. "From there, I will show you your new class." She nodded in response but, something is a little of and I don't like it one bit. I'm guessing that she is adapting, it's normal anyway. Right?
She put her stuffs in her locker, basically a stack of textbook. Then, we headed to the class. We were at the door. "Prepare for your journey to gain knowledge like us normal kids." I said as I opened the door.
"Ahh. Brian. I'm guessing this is the new kid?" She said. "Yep, in the flesh teacher." I replied. "Alright, please introduce yourself to the whole class." She said. Sophie was stiffed. I'm guessing that she was nervous. I looked at her in pityness. She didn't say any word. "Sorry everyone, she is a shy type." I said, breaking the silence. She looked at me. "Her name is Sophie Hayden and she will be in our class. So, please make sure that you treat her properly." I said. "Alright, take a seat." Said the teacher.
I took a seat and directed Sophie to sit next to me. I.must guide anyway. I know that she is not smart and had no educational experience, so, this is going to be hard. Like teaching a kindergarten girl, but with an amazing difference in age. I laughed just by thinking of that. "Dude, why are you laughing? You're gonna get caught." Said Dameron. "Oh nothing." I chuckled. Yeah, it may be funny. But it's not me who is experiencing this flaw. I kinda felt bad that I thought about that.
Time Skipped To Recess
Wow, that was quicker than expected. It felt like I just reached school but now it's Recess. The bell rang, meaning that it's Recess. "Brian? What happened?" Said Sophie. She looked shocked. Well, the bell was very loud. "That's the bell." I said. "It indicate the time we have now. Like this bell means that it's Recess." I said. She nodded. "Recess?" She said, tilting her head. She was confused. Heh, cute. Wait what? "Recess as in break time. Like resting time." She nodded. "Come, let's go." I said. We got up and we head to the cafeteria.
We head to the cafeteria with Dameron. "So who exactly is she?" He said. I was shocked. If I was eating, I would've spit my food or at least choked. "Seriously you don't know her?" I said, in shock. He shookhis head. "Remember you chased away a girl who you called a beggar." I said. "Yeah, and oh...." He said in a tone that showed guiltness. "You got to be kidding right?" He said. "Tell him Sophie." I said to her. "Yeah. But that's the past. I forgive you. I got used to it anyway." She said giving him a blank smile. I know she was hurt. But what people always say, Forgive And Forget. He looked down in shame.
"Next time, don't do anything stupid." I said. "Yeah...sorry." He said , looking even more guilty. Yeah...serves you right. We reached the cafeteria. I went to the counter and bought our food and payed it for her. Then we sat down on the table.
"So what do you think of this school?" I asked her. She looked at me and she smiled. "It's good I guess." She said while filling he mouth with food. But why I got a feeling that she was not happy. Maybe just my stupid feelings and i hate it sometimes. We continued eating and then the bell rang. "Well, Recess is over." I said. "Now time to get to class." She nodded. What's going on here? She is not talking and doesn't look so bright as usual. What is actually going on? I don't know why but I bet it has something to do with school or life.
Time Skipped To Back Home
I walked back home with Sophie. Ok,yep my theory was right. Something's up and I don't like it. Not one bit. And I don't want to say it directly to her. I'm afraid that she will get hurt. But I must know. Otherwise I will not see the cheerfulness of Sophie that I liked. Wait, liked? Whoa. That's weird. Dude, she is just a friend, and nothing else. Why the topic was about me. It's about her. Me and my feelings, freaky and weird....
