Brian Pov
I looked at her. She was shocked. So shocked that her eyes are widdened. "Thank you. But why?" She said. " We just wanted to take care of someone who is in need." Said my Mother. I looked at her. I smiled. She on the other hand. Was crying. But not in sadness, but in happiness. They let go of the hug. "Well we'll be leaving you here with Brian." Said Mother. "He'll show you around." She looked down. "Ok. But maybe not today?" She said. "Why?" Said Mother. " Well it's okay anyway. Probably she is tired anyway." I cut in the conversation. "Well if you need any assistance, you know who to find." She said. Sophie nodded.
Time Skipped To Night Time
I showed her the house and now it's night time. There was no need to cook because I cooked the food. I made extras for the rest as usual. We went downstairs. Sophie was wearing her nightgown that my mother bought. As usual, she looked beautiful like an angel. Heh. She sat down on the chair, next to me. We ate and then we talked about her education. Starting tomorrow we are going to register her to school.
After dinner we head upstairs and we get ready for bed. Funny, ever since dinner she was less talkative than before. I wonder whats going on? She lay down on my bed and I lay on the ground. She wanted to sleep on the ground but I insisted her to sleep on the bed...
Dreamland...
I was walking. Again, I don't know my whereabouts. I sighed. I kept walking until I got tired. I saw a hill with a very tall, shady tree. I went to it and rested for a few while. I looked at the scenery. "Wow." I said. "It's really lovely here." Then I heard a voice. "It sure is." Said the voice. Funny, it sounded familiar. I look behind. It was her. The girl from all my dreams. I was shocked. Then she sat down. "Hello, how are you?" She said. "Good and you?" I replied. "Good." She said as she gave me the brightest smile. When she smiled the whole world became bright until it's too bright. I covered my eyes. Once I uncover it, I was back. From Dreamland to reality. I sighed. "What's wrong with me?" I said. I mean like, the dream was all about her and this is not my first time anyway. I got up. I looked at my clock hanging at the wall. I chuckled. "4:30 seriously?" I said. I got up and wash my face. Once I got out I went to the bed. Sophie wasn't here. "Where is she?" I said, getting worried. I tried staying calm. I checked the whole house but to no avail. Where could she have been gone to? Could she had...I don't know...
I went to my room, panicking listing the possible places that she could have been to. Then I wrote it down. As soon as I'm done, I walked to the door. As I was about to close it. I saw the window opened. I walked to it then...I saw her sitting on the roof, hugging her legs. I was relieved. I climbed out the window and sat next to her. "Sophie, what are you doing up here all by yourself and this early?" I asked. She looked down. "I can't sleep." She said, hugging her legs. I looked at her. "Why?" I asked. She shrugged. "I don' t know." She said.
"You know what I do when i'm not able to sleep?" I asked. She looked at me. "Count the stars and sheeps?" She replied. "Well, i make me some milk." I said. " You want some?" I said. She nodded. We get in the room and went downstairs and I make the milk. Once I am done, I gave it to her. "Here, careful it's hot." I said, giving her the cup. She took it and take a sip. She was shocked that she jumped a little. "What happened?" I said, worried. I think she had burned her lips. "I told you, its hot." I said. She shook her head. "Its just that this is delicious!!" She said happily. I looked her. Her smile with her eyes closed. To me, it shines bright. I feel like i could stare at her all day. She looked at me. "You ok?" She said, waving her hand over my face. I went back to reality. "Oh, sorry. Zoned out." I said as i chuckled nervously. She smiled again.
Then we kept on drinking. Once we were finished, i washed the cups and we head to our room. She lay down on the bed and I lay down on the ground. "Brian?" She called. "Yes?" I replied. "I still cannot sleep. Is this normal?" She said, worried. I sat down looking at her who was still laying down on her pillow, looking at the ceiling. "Its ok. How about a story?" I asked. "That sounds good actually." She said. "Alright. Just wait. I will go get the storybook." I said. She nodded. I got up and took the book. I sat down and opened it. She lay down on my lap. "Once upon a time.." I stopped because of what i am seeing now. She was asleep, like a baby. "What the? Fast asleep already?" I said. I chuckled lightly. I looked at her. Her face. Beautiful...
I wonder...why cant she sleep?
I can feel my consiousness fading.
I looked at her for one last time.
Funny, she was asleep on my lap and i am sitting down.
This is going to kill my back.
But i know its worth it..
Its worth it. Heh....
How was the new chapter?
