Five Years Later

A kiss on the cheek wakes me, "Wake darling, we best not be late."

"Coming, Dear."

We have remained in correspondence with the other royals even outside of the summit. The event itself feels more like a reunion than a formal event. I hug my brother and his wife as they arrive.

"Sakorra, great to see you. How is Juvio?"

"Well, rambunctious as ever. How are you?"

"Wonderful, Yarsin just celebrated his birthday and the sickness has faded." She smiles as they take their seats. Corin kisses my check wrapping his arm around me to lead me away. I look around and feel nothing, but contentment for my life.

Zargot has proven what I have always known, with Sakorra at his side and the war ended he has brought Ariox to stability.

Divon has become somewhat of a permanent fixture at my side always comparing observations and most helpful in learning the finer points of Nirasu life. He attends all foreign affairs at our side. "Welcome to the fifth annual Eight Nations Royal Summit." As we all take our places I find myself reflecting on the past few years, how much has changed, how much still remains to be done.

Though the circumstances that brought it about are less than conventional, peace among all countries has reached an all-time high even if some animosity still remains. Two decades of hatred cannot be reverted in a day.

I cannot change the past, but I can make a better future. I glance at Corin, we can make a better future. I rest a hand on my bulging stomach. I cannot wait to see what the future brings. I love you

And I you.

"Now, what has happened in the past year?"

"Well..."
