Lois' POV
It was a beautiful day. The birds' chirping was good in my ears and breathing the morning breeze helped me in good mood. My body felt light like free feeling, as if I had no problems to worry about. I watched the people around me while going to the school and it seemed they were too, except for the busy people. The smile on my face won't fade and I guessed whoever noticed me think I was a crazy, but I couldn't help it.
Entering the school gates, I could hear gossiping here and there. These students had been repeating the same lines over and over again ever since I came back. I wondered if they never get tired of it because I was afraid instead of lessons should be sticking into our minds was replaced by gossips.
I entered the classroom and when Ann saw me, I gave her a wave with a smile. She stood up from her seat and approached me.
"What took you so long?" She placed her hands on her hips and had her eyebrow raised.
I laughed sheepishly with my hand rested on the nape of my neck. "I'm sorry. I have enjoyed myself too much in walking."
"Good thing you are not close to being late. But the other day, that was your very first late ever since middle school. It isn't that you at all. You're the type of person who wakes up really early and the first one to arrive in the classroom."
"Yeah, but people change right? I guess I've been reversed?" I chuckled and noticed Akira entering our classroom with his usual hands in his pockets and head hanging down a bit. "Good morning Kurusu-kun." He lifted his gaze and I gave him a small wave.
"Good morning Akira!" Ann greeted him as well and he greeted us with a smile.
"Good morning."
"Good day students, please assemble to the gymnasium right now. Again, please assemble to the gymnasium right now. Thank you"
A sudden announcement publicized on the speakers and everyone moved to go at the gymnasium. I hurriedly put my bag on my desk and we followed the other students.
The moment we arrived the gymnasium was filled with students. Thoughts were swirling throughout the minds. Murmurs were everywhere when you look around and each person inside had someone to talk with or just keep silent until it started. The stage was already set for the principal as we stood near from it.
Realization came down at me and took out my phone, checking the date today. "Ann is this what you're talking about? The day Kamoshida will confess?" I whispered at her despite of the talkings surrounding us.
"Maybe... I'm not sure. Let's wait." She was focused in front, crossing her arms under her chest.
"Let's begin this school-wide morning assembly. As you all know, a tragic event took place the other day. Thankfully, we have been informed that she has pulled through, but it will take time until she recovers." Ann sighed and I took hold of her hand and gave her smile before turning our attention back to the principal.
"Everyone here has a bright future ahead, I implore that you rethink the importance of life and--"
"... Ah!" The sound of the opening doors of the gymnasium took our attention, and it revealed Mr. Kamoshida who looked down.
