Cold...

Pain...

Numb...

Sinking...

Those were what I felt right now. My stiff body was sinking down, barely feeling the pain because of the cold temperature that continued to decrease. My eyelids raised halfway and beneath the water surface greeted my vision. The light rays helped in making it more fascinating to watch, yet it was so bright that it made my eyes stang a bit. Unconsciously, I held my hand out by any chance I could able to touch it but I was already that far. A few scratches I had noticed on my arm and small amount of blood was oozing out before mixing with the colorless liquid.

'Am I dying? I haven't say goodbye nor thank you to everyone...'

'But... I'm scared... I'm not ready... I'm not ready to face death yet... I want to live... Not this... I still have things to finish...'

'When I already have a good life with great friends beside me, it would vanish just like that? So unfair... Why do I have this kind of fate?'

'Someone... Please someone... Help me... I beg of you... I don't want to die!'

I felt my eyes prick and I didn't know if I was crying because it mixed in with the water. Darkness started to consume my vision but once I blinked, I watched how the water surface broke apart and a black silhouette came into my vision.

'Who?'

Their figure was getting bigger as they swam towards me but at the same time my eyelids were getting heavy. Though one thing was for sure, they had grabbed my hand before I lost my consciousness.

---

"LOIS!"

My eyes shot open and a thought of earthquake crossed my mind when I saw all was like shaking. But my vision began to adjust from being blurry after blinking twice to thrice, continuosly until it was right. First thing I did was to try my five senses. I saw first the white ceiling and the lights attached to it and I heard a sound of machine and my breathing. Then, the smell sort of a medicine entered my nostrils as I felt something soft under my fingertips while twitching them, and I guessed it had to be a blanket.

"Lois?"

Eyes moving to my right, a woman stood there with a smile but tears were falling down on her rosy cheeks. She was leaning against the mattress I was on.

"Lois?"

"M-Mom?"

This woman was my mother and when I tried to call out to her it resulted to be hoarse voice, like a pipe was stuck in my throat.

"You're finally awake! Honey!" She dashed out of the room as she called out while it faded.

I opened and closed my hand a few times before I shakily removed the oxygen mask. I did some inhale and exhale from my mouth and at the same time someone rushed in.

"Lois, sweetie, do you remember us?" A man with a doctor coat ran to my left and touched my face gently while getting some of my hair out of my face. He asked me calmly but I saw in his eyes that he was nervous from the way they moved yet staring at me.
