Carl wiped of the sweat dripping down his face. "Hey, can we take a break? I'm dying in here." He pleaded. "Jeff, how can we know the vocal part of the song if you don't start singing?" Carl exclaimed to Jeff.
"It's all in my head. Don't you worry, you'll hear it once we record the song. For now, let's just focus on the instruments. Jeffrey explained.
"Yeah but how can you improve your voice if you don't sing?" Stephen supported Carl.
"I know you still lack the confidence Jeff, but you gotta do this if we really want our band to shine." Chester added.
Jeffrey nodded."I know that guys. But trust me, you'll see when we record. Anyway, I'll go buy water." He made an excuse.
"Avoiding again Jeff." Carl pointed. "Fine, go buy me some juice then."
"One for me too and couple it with some snacks" Shouted Chester with a big smile and a wink on his face.
"Me too!" Said Stephen.
"Oh my god." Jeffrey rolled his eyes while grabbing his wallet. "You owe me for this, big time. You haven't even paid me the last time yet or treated me anything!" He cried.
"Love you bro!" He heard them shout his name as Jeffrey left to go to the canteen for some snacks.
On the way, he thought of how well the band was going. He was excited to record their very first song, he kept smiling up to the school canteen and sat on the empty table next to two girls who kept giving him flirty stares as he chewed on his hamburger and ate alone quietly while everyone is conversing. Suddenly the other girl came to him without him noticing.
"Hello, again!" Jeffrey looked up and chocked.
"Oh my!" The girl opened the water bottle and handed it to him. "Drink this!"
Jeffrey didn't hesitate further. He grabbed the bottle from her hand and drank it as he pounds his chest.
"What are you doing here, again?" He said, wiping the water stain from his lips.
She sits in front of Jeffrey. "I have a request for your band." She smirked, placing her arms down and leaning her face close towards his.
"Request?" Jeffrey said nervously while he blushed. "A request for our band? The first request for our band?." While he unconsciously makes a funny shy expression.
She laughs boisterously. "I didn't even say what my request was yet." She batters her eyelashes at him, and flattered him with that cute smile of hers again.
Jeffrey crossed his arms as he leans on the chair. "Oh. Then what is it?" As he said curiously.
She makes a cute face and tries to act as best as possible "Can your band play for me this founders week at the night of music?" She pleaded. "I mean, you want to shine right? Isn't it good to try something just like this even for once?"
"You're kidding me right?" Jeffrey asked in excitement. "You sure you want us to play?" Jeffrey clarified. "You've got to be kidding me."
"Why would I be kidding you?" She asked. "I know you might not be well known yet but I can't let others do this with me."
"Not well known." Jeffrey emphasized and starts to make a sad expression as he looks above.
"I'm sorry for saying that." She apologized. "Here, this is my music book. We could try making my lyrics into a song."
The girl handed him her music book. It was covered in purple which attracted him because his favorite color was violet which is somewhat similar to purple. Written in girl cursive letters read Danna. This must be her name.
Jeffrey slowly opened the book and read through the different compositions page after page. The lyrics seemed to capture his attention and within an instant. He closed the book and handed it back to her saying. "You really wrote this? Do you have any tune for this?" He asked.
"Yes I do." She replied.
Jeffrey smiled, "Could you sing it for me?" Danna was shocked upon hearing this question.
"Not in here." She curled her body like a little baby would when sleeping. "I'm... There's too many people."
"You wanted to sing this founders right? Maybe it's time for you to step out of your comfort zone." He said and realized that he is also like that. "Even just a soft voice would do." He suggested.
Dana sighed and blushed. "Well then." And began. The first note began with a mi.
I've always wanted to say this to you
But I can't seem to find the perfect moment
Hiding everytime I see your face
Why does it have to be this way?
I think you've already forgotten me
But I will never forget you
You were the reason that I'm fighting
But before I go
I want you to know
I'll always love you
Wherever you will go
"Now you believe me?" Dana said shyly while blushing, not looking Jeffrey in the eye.
"Y-You– Jeffrey said while in shock.
"I wrote that." Dana smiled. "Do you like it?"
Jeffrey slowly nodded as if the tune had him dazed over and over.
"Then, it's official." She got up and smiled. "You'll help me make this song."
"I'll do my best." Jeffrey answered.
"Yeeeey!!" As she raises both her hands in excitement. "Name's Danna by the way. I know you already." She offered her hand.
Jeffrey took her hand and shook it. "Jeffrey." He introduced himself properly. "Looking forward to working with you Danna." He smiled.
"So do I Jeff." She smiled.
