In the band room the next day after class, Jeffrey explained what happened yesterday in the canteen.
"You did what?!" Carl didn't seem pleased to hear the news coming from Jeffrey himself as he turns the tuning peg of his bass and strums the 4th string as he listens if the tune is right.
"Dude. That girl is playing mind games with you." Smirked Stephen while spinning his drumstick on one hand and eating his burger on the other. "I think she my schoolmate. "Mace's classmate? Not really sure."
"Well I think it's a great idea!" Shouted Chester making all of them turn their heads around disagreeing.
"Finally, someone who agrees with me." Jeffrey exclaimed and sighed.
Chester messed his hair before walking his way up to Jeffrey. He gave him a smile and slung his arm over his shoulders. "This collaboration can make our band come into reality. Maybe this is our chance to prove to the world that we have potential! We'll help with the beat and structure of the song and we'll play it this founders week."
"How about the song we were planning to record?" Carl questioned. "Jeffrey, you of all people was always excited about recording our first song. How could we record if we'd practice something else and make this our priority?"
Jeffrey turned the other way around. "I don't know bro. This girl...there's something in her that makes me...."
"She's cute right?" Chester cut him off. "And you said that she writes great songs. You heard her yourself!" He pounded his fist into Jeffrey's chest. "I think this is the girl for you."
"Shut up Chester." Stephen inserted. "We all know that you're only excited about her looks." Chester looked at Stephen with a shocked face as if realizing that Stephen found out his motives.
"Carl made sense." Jeffrey realized as Carl shook his head in disappointment."But we could practice two songs alternately right? He suggested.
"Of course we can." Chester approved. "Come on guys, this is easy." He tries to convince Carl and Stephen. He taps his hand on their shoulder, "It's our chance. At least this girl goes her way just to talk with Jeff."
Carl and Stephen sighed, "Alright."
"Oh by the way guys." Stephen inserted. "Turns out that the owner of the studio was my classmate's father. He said that we could come any time if we are ready because he would want to listen on how our song will flow."
"I still think we have much to improve on our song." Jeffrey replied. "We start with an F# power chord followed by an E then D then E." As he strums the song's chords.
"Hey I was thinking, maybe we could add this part on the intro." Carl said and played the part he suggested on the bass.
"That would be great!" Jeffrey exclaimed. "Why don't we try playing it together?"
"Alright one.. two.. three.." Carl said and together with Jeff, they played the part.
"Wow that was great!" Chester admired. "Add that sequence to my lead guitar and it would be perfect. You're a genius Carl!" Chester squealed.
Jeffrey smiled and nodded at Chester, "Don't worry guys, we could do this. Now, how about we practice our song again before we go home?" He suggested.
"Will you sing this time?" Carl cocked an eyebrow as he asks Jeffrey.
Jeffrey sighed. "I'll try." He grabs his chest and gathered strength
"Okay good." Stephen said as they prepared. He hit his sticks together, "One.. Two..One Two Three Go!"
