Chapter 5

A week had passed and the song was almost perfect. Jeffrey and Danna grew closer along with the other band members. It was a normal Friday inside the band room and Jeffrey asked his band and Danna if they could go somewhere together for a change.

"Hey, why don't we go somewhere tomorrow?" Jeffrey suggested as he places his guitar on the stand. The other members were also placing their instruments beside them. Danna was sitting on the chair beside the keyboard and tries to play the tune of the song they practised.

"That would be a great idea! You would finally get the chance to talk about it." Carl said and points at Danna. She looks at him with a surprised look.

"Yes what is it?" She asks him.

"So what's the status between you and Jeff huh?" He suspiciously asks her and gave her an evil look. Jeffrey blushed and answered his question.

"I told you man, there is nothing between us." He shouted as his face turns red. "I still don't know if she is the one." He whispers to Carl. "She just teaches me how to sing properly, that's all." Danna also blushed and looks at Carl with an honest face.

"Yeah! What's with both of you?" Chester teases them. "And here I thought I would be the one to score the points." He said as he shakes his head.

Stephen stood up and said, "I'm going to make some juice." He then walks to the refrigerator and grabs some juice and water and starts mixing it.

"Uhmm.." said Danna shyly. "If what you mean is that if we are a couple then I can't really answer that question. I mean Jeffrey's a great guy and stuff but I really think he should focus more on making music rather than having a girlfriend or something."

"Whaaaaat?!!" Carl, Jeffrey, and Chester were shocked and Stephen who was making juice suddenly jumped in disbelief. Carl cleared his throat and asked, "So this means that you do have feelings for him?"

Danna blushed and her eyes started twirling around. She uncontrollably moves her feet around as she places her hand on her lap. "Uhm.. No?" She denied. "It's not like I have feelings for Jeffrey. I just admire him as a musician that's all." She smiles and starts playing a song on the keyboard.

Carl started giving Jeffrey the stares, Jeffrey tries to avoid eye contact and Chester circles them around. "Bro, you've got yourself one pretty amazing girl." Stephen nodded in agreement.

Carl added, "You know for one who doesn't really want a girlfriend, you've gotten so lucky so far."

Jeffrey blushed so much and started fidgeting. "She never said she wants to be my girlfriend, plus she said that she only admires me as musician that's all." He defends himself.

"There's no denying it bro." said Stephen. "I'm pretty sure you've got feelings for her too, and the way she said it, there's gotta be some feelings she has for you." Stephen pats Jeffrey's shoulder. "Don't worry bro. Just remember us when you're official already." The others nodded in agreement.

Danna stood behind them and said, "So boys.. Should we start practising or what?" She makes an angry expression. "I think it's getting late." She implies.

The boys turns their head slowly, "Yes miss."

They continued practising, on and on their song started to flow naturally and everything seemed perfect. Danna had perfected her voice progression and so as the others with their respective instruments. They were getting better and better and eventually, the time for going home as come. It was already six in the evening. They kept their instruments inside their cases and prepared to move out. Jeffrey went to the restroom.

Carl takes one final look to see if everything was in order and when he confirms it he said, "I'm going to switch the lights off now."

"Waaaait!!" Danna screams as she ran towards the room. "I forgot to get my music book. Wait.. Don't turn the lights off yet please.." She pleads as water starts to form in her eyes. Carl was shocked when he saw this expression and started grinning. "Carl please.." Danna begs.

Carl turns the lights off. "Ahhhh!!" A loud scream from Danna was heard, Jeffrey who was fresh from moving out the restroom heard this scream from the band room and immediately ran towards it. When he arrived, he gasps and holds his chest and was surprised to see Carl's face swelling and Danna having teary eyes. "What happened? Jeffrey asked.

"Apparently, your idiot best friend here made fun with Danna." Stephen points at Carl, "He switched off the lights when she was still inside."

"I won't do it again I promise." Carl apologized to Danna and Danna nodded and immediately walked to Jeffrey. She grabs Jeffrey by the hand and looks at him in the eye. Jeffrey was surprised and blushes. Her eyes were sparkling and her soft palms were holding his. This made Carl, Chester, and Stephen's spine shiver with excitement. Jeffrey blushes and asks, "What is it?"

It felt like Danna was staring not only at his eyes but directly inside him. He felt the warm hands of Danna and Danna leans closer to Jeffrey and said, "Will you protect me when I'm afraid?"

This made the three other members squeal and they started spanking each other. Jeffrey was surprised by this question, his face started to turn red and when Danna noticed this, she placed her hand on his forehead and said, "You're hot Jeff. Are you sick?"

Jeffrey took Danna's hand on his forehead and held it tight, "No.. that's not it Dan." He said. Jeffrey clears his throat and takes a deep breath, "Yes I will, I'll protect you."

Danna blushed and the three jumped out of joy. They proceeded moving out and while walking towards the gate Jeffrey reminded, "Tomorrow 10 a.m. at the usual place okay?

"Where is the usual place?" Danna asked because she had no idea what the usual place is.

"The usual place is at RM Cafe Danna. Do you know where that is?" Carl replied. Danna looked confused and answered, "No."

"Well then, guess Mr. Jeff here would be your tour guide for tomorrow." Carl looks at Jeffrey with a smile. Stephen elbows Jeffrey at the side implying that he should do it. Chester also taps Danna on the shoulder and nods.

Jeffrey sighs, "Fine fine. I'll come with her tomorrow." The three high-fived and looked at Danna. "You will Jeff?" Danna smiled as she stares at Jeffrey who was already as red as a chilli. "Where will we meet?" She asks.

"At the bakeshop right beside the 1st gate." He replied.

Danna smiled and said, "Thank you." This made Jeffrey smile too and stared at Carl with gratitude, Carl nodded and opened his mouth and without a sound he says 'welcome'.
