Chapter 15

It was already 3 p.m. of the 28th of February, the last day of Jeffrey. Danna and the others made sure that his last would be the best. As planned, they all went to the beach beside the owner's studio. They made a camp and wore their beach clothings and arranged everything they needed.

"Hey Jeff? How about your mother?" Chester asks.

"Right. They'll be here later. I ask them that I'll spend some time with you guys too." He answers.

They made all the preparations. They bought Jeffrey's favorite foods. Hamburgers, meatballs, noodles, lumpia, and many more. Jeffrey was so happy upon seeing this. It was like he didn't have any problem at all.

Jeffrey, who was wearing shorts sat on the sand right beside Danna and leans on him. "Dann? We should be happy today remember?"

"I was just thinking about the song." Danna replies.

"Don't worry, I'll get to it." Carl inserts as he stands up.

Carl went to the studio and got the song from the owner. At last their song was finished. He thanks the owner and leaves as the owner waves his hands.

Carl goes back to the beach and from afar, he shouts, "Hey! I have the song already!"

Everybody smiles and gathered around to listen to the song. Carl played the song on his phone and everyone listened. It was perfect. Just as they wanted the song to be.

"You'll include this song on the CD right?" Jeffrey asks as he laughs.

"Of course we will you idiot." Carl replies.

Everybody laughs as they cheered their glasses of softdrinks. Danna looks at the sea. "I think it's time to go to the beach right?"

"Yeah let's swim man." Stephen exclaims. "I bought a ball, we could play beach volleyball."

"That's a good idea." Chester follows. "Let's go." Chester and Stephen ran towards the beach. Carl looks at Jeffrey and Danna and smiles as he ran towards the beach and jumps in the water.

Jeffrey and Danna looks at each other and smiles. Jeffrey holds Danna's hand and Danna leans on him. "I had so much fun with you Jeff. I never wished this day would come."

"Me too Dann." He replies. "I want to be with you forever. To ask you to marry me, have children with you, grow old with you. We'd watch our children grow up and have their own children too. We'd go to diffrent places and have fun, live in our own house."

Danna's tears starts falling from her eyes. "But we cant do that Jeff."

"I'm sorry that it had to be like this." He apologizes.

Danna cries and hugs Jeffrey tight, Jeffrey hugs him back. "I'll still be here even when I'm gone." He says as he points on Danna's right chest.

Danna looks at him and starts crying harder. "Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why would you always make me feel like this? Why do you always make me smile even when I'm sad?"

Jeffrey blushes and looks away. "Look at them." He says as he looks at the others. Danna looks at them too. "They're waiting for us. Why don't we join them."

"Alright."

Jeffrey stands and grabs Danna's hand as he helps her get up. They ran towards the water and they all started playing. Jeffrey splashes water at Danna and Danna laughs as she splashes water back at Jeffrey.

They played beach volleyball, water gun, and ate the foods they prepared. Jeffrey's mother arrived later some time. They had so much fun together.

It was already 7 p.m. they were already worn out. On a bonfire near the camp, they gathered, Chester started playing his acoustic guitar.

"Guys." Jeffrey calls them out. "I just wanted to thank you for everything."

Jeffrey's mother starts crying. "I love you son."

"I love you too mom." He hugs her.

"We all know that after today, you'd be back with class and I'll be gone. I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me."

Everyone started crying. Stephen covers his face and Danna leans her head on Jeffrey's chest. Carl holds his tears and Chester places his guitar down.

"You guys had been excellent friends. I couldn't have asked for anything else from you all."

"We'll always be here for you bro." Carl says as his eyes gets wet.

"Carl, you'll be the leader of the band okay? I'll leave the future of the band in your hands." He smiles. "Make me proud."

"Of course I will." Carl looks away.

"Chester, stop being such a flirt and stick with one girl. The girl that you really love."

"I don't have any girlfriend yet but I get you." Chester replies as he looks up at the stars.

"Stephen, I'll always consider you my little brother. Take good care of yourself and pursue your dreams."

"Yes bro." Stephen says as he rolls his body.

"I'll leave you guys here for a bit." Jeffrey stands and offers Danna his hand. "I want to talk to you alone."

"Uh.. Okay Jeff." Danna holds his hand and stands up.

They walk together on the seashore. It was dark but the breeze kept them safe.

"You know." Jeffrey says. "I never really thought that we'd see each other again after all these years. If it weren't for you, I would have regretted this in my life."

"But look at us now Jeff." She replies as she stands in front of Jeffrey. "We are here already. A couple."

"I still couldn't believe it." He hugs Danna tightly and Danna hugs him back as tears starts falling.

"I'll miss you Jeff." She cries.

Jeffrey's arms were around her, she was surprised. Jeffrey proceeds to brush her hair lightly. She slides her fingers down his face and slowly leans forward. Danna closes her eyes as she tip toes. Jeffrey leans to her and softly, they kissed. The first kiss they ever made.

After kissing, Danna pulls down and slowly opens her eyes. She was blushing but tears fall from her eyes.

"I love you!" Jeffrey says as he wipes the tears from Danna's eyes.

Danna hugs him so tightly and cries loudly. "I love you Jeffrey! I'll always love you!"

They kissed again. Inside Danna's head were the words "I don't want this to end."

They went back to the camp and found everybody waiting for them there. They all went inside the camp and spoke. Played cards and listened to their song over and over again.

They had so much happiness and sadness. It was the best day of their lives, but it doesn't compensate for what the future holds for them.

It was already 11:50 p.m., Jeffrey leans on a rock outside the camp near the bonfire. Everybody gathers beside him as they watched the sea. Jeffrey holds Danna's hands tightly.

"It's beautiful here at night." Jeffrey says as he stares at the sea.

"Yes." Danna replies and everybody starts to cry.

"I'll miss you all guys."

"We'll miss you Jeff."

Slowly, as the time passes by, Jeffrey closes his eyes and smiles. "Goodbye." And at exactly March 1 at 12 a.m. his hands slowly grips away from Danna's.

It was the death of Jeffrey Cerdania. Everybody cried and Danna hugs his body as he screams, "JEFFFFREEYYY!!"

Carl pats his hand on Danna's shoulder, crying as well. "He's gone Dann."

She cries over and over, refusing to let go of Jeffrey. Slowly she weakens and finally lets go of his body. They carried his body to the car and finally went home.
