Chapter 2

Finally

I wake up to see my iPhone screen lighting up: 1 New Text Message.

It was 11:00. I slept late.

Taylor💙: Hey Sky. You awake yet? All of us are going for a swim. Wanna come?

To Taylor💙: Just woke up. Be down in a minute.😋

I went to my closet and picked out my violet colored, polka-dot bikini. I put it on and headed downstairs.

"Skylar, can I talk to you?" I heard Shawn ask me. I look into his eyes and it looks like he's been crying.

"Yeah, but first, I have to say that I'm sorry. I overreacted yesterday. I was just upset." I am glad that everyone else is already outside.

"No, you had every right to yell at me. Everything you said to me was true. I should've called you everyday. I know this sounds unreal, but I missed you so much, I couldn't say goodbye. That's why I avoided you that whole day I was leaving. That's also why I didn't call you, because then I would have to say goodbye to you."

I don't say a word. I just go up to him and put my arms around his neck. I start to cry.

"Sky, I want you to come on tour with me. For the whole time."

I pull away from the hug, "I would really like that."

"Okay, so what's going on? Obviously, I now know about Mom. That was a little hard at first. What else is happening? Good and bad."

"Well..." It's time I told Shawn everything. "Dad and my boyfriend, Jake, abuse me. I stay at Natalie's all the time because of what Dad does to me. Thankfully, he's gone almost every time I'm here because he's at a bar getting drunk."

"Oh my god! Sky, why didn't you call me?"

"I thought you hated me. Ever since you avoided me the day you left. I thought I did something horrible to make you hate me."

"I could never hate you. I love you sis." He hugs me again.

We get startled by Nash chanting, "Sing! Sing! Sing! Sing!"

"What do you say Sky, wanna sing something for them?"

"It'd be my honor. What song?"

"Our song..." I know excatly what Shawn means by that. We'd always sing this one song together.

It was 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri.

Shawn sets up two stools for us to sit on. He plays the guitar while we both sing.

We take turns singing the verses, then we both sing the chorus.

The song is over, "Wooooo!" All the guys scream.

Nash walks up to me, "You sounded great Skylar." I blush a little.

I give him a kiss on the cheek, "Sorry about being so mean yesterday. By the way, you have great abs." I wink at him and we laugh together.

"Alright! What are we doing still sitting around? Lets get swimming!" Matthew Espinosa screams.

"I'm in!" I scream back. "But first I have to go and get my towel."

I am about to walk away, but someone grabs my waist. I turn to see Taylor, "I don't think so young lady. You're going swimming now!" He put me in his arms baby style and starts walking over towards the pool.

"No! She wasn't ready!"

Taylor pauses to look at me, "What?"

"It's a thing I say with my friends."

"Oh." Then Taylor starts walking again towards the pool and before I could stop him, I felt my body splash into the water.

Me, Taylor, and all the guys start cracking up. I see them all start to run in and jump into the pool.

Maybe these boys weren't so bad after all. I'm glad I finally got to meet them.
