Chapter 3

Could It Be?

I wake up the next morning with a text from Taylor. Is this just going to be a routine? Him texting me every morning? I don't mind, I guess.

Taylor💙: Hey bae. Wanna come to the mall later at about 1:00 or nah?

It was only 9:30, so I had time to spare.

To Taylor💙: Yeah. Obviously. It's the mall. Lol.😉

I just lock my phone after that to get dressed. I wear a plain, purple hoodie with a pair of light wash shorts. I slip on my white flips flops.

I go downstairs to the kitchen, expecting to see Shawn, but he's gone.

To Shawn😘: Hey, are you at the house?

Shawn😘: No. Went to the store. Getting a few things.

To Shawn😘: Okay. Hurry back.

I don't see the other guys either. They must have gone with Shawn.

I just sat on the couch and just thought about the rest of yesterday. Nash and I were hanging out pretty much the whole time. We had chicken fights, and with that much people, it was super fun. Anyways, I went in Nash's back. The shorter guys went on the taller guy's back's.

While doing the chicken fights, someone pushed me off of Nash in the deep end, and even though I can swim, Nash came diving for me. I just smile a little at the thought of Nash.

A knock at the door got me out of my thoughts. It was probably just Shawn forgetting his key.

I walk through the long hallway and open the door. Oh my god. No. Please no. Not now. No one is home.

"Hey babe." It was Jake, my crazy boyfriend.

"Uh. Hi." My heart began racing so fast.

"Can I come in?"

"Uh. Well. My brother is back and I am spending time with him. Because-cause-I-I haven't seen him in a while."

"But I don't see him here. So where is he?"

"He's just stopping at the store real fast. He'll be back soon."

"Well, for now, why don't I stay?"

Before I could say anything he shoves me against the door and my back slams against the door knob. Shit. That really hurt.

He threw me out of the way of the door and slams it shut.

He lifts me up and pins me up against the wall. Jake is about to punch me until the door opens.

Taylor. I let go from Jake's grasp and run to Taylor in tears. "Hey. Shhh. It's okay now." Taylor said, calming me down while in his arms.

"Who are you?" Jake asks.

"Taylor."

"Her brother?"

"No, actually I'm not."

"You're cheating on me Skylar?"

I was about to say something, but Taylor did, "She was never yours in the first place."

"You'll regret this Skylar. Remember that." And with that, Jake left.

"Thank you Taylor." I tell him as more tears ran down my cheeks.

"Who was that? And what was he doing to you?" He picks me up and carries me over to the couch.

"That's Jake. He's my boyfriend. He abuses me. A lot. Along with my father."

"Why didn't you tell anyone?"

"I had no one to tell."

"I'm back Sky!" I hear a voice yell from the door. Shawn.

I run to him to hug him.

"You've been crying. What's wrong?"

"Jake. He was here."

"I'm going to kill him."

About two hours later all of the other guys were here. They all knew about Jake now.

Nash pulls me aside, "Hey, Sky, can I ask you something?"

"Sure. Anything." I smile at him.

"Okay, so here it goes. I know we just met and all, but I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date sometime?"

I try to not freak out. "Nash, I'd love that." I just love Nash's blue eyes.

"Alright, let's go shopping!" Jack Gilinsky shouts like a girl.

I hear scatters of 'Alright' and 'Let's do it'. There were 13 of us, so we had to take two cars. Cameron drove his truck and Taylor drove his. I went with Taylor along with Nash, Shawn, Jack and Jack, and Matthew. The other car consisted of Cameron, Carter, Aaron, Brent, Hayes, and Jacob.

We arrive at the mall and I see all of my favorite stores; Areopostale, Hollister, Abercrombie, Forever 21, Zumiez, and there is even a store dedicated to the Magcon boys. I need to go in there. I hated them so much, I never got any merchandise.

That was the first store we all went into. The boys didn't mind either, it's all about them.

I bought Nash, Shawn, and Taylor shirts. And one of the rest. I also got a Brent shirt that says 'Mhmm that's wrong', a 'Nashty', and a 'Cartah stop you always do that'. I was laughing so hard.

I put on my Brent shirt ('Mhmm that's wrong') right away and asked anyone in general, "Who likes my new shirt?" I make sure Brent hears.

"I love that! I want one!" Brent screams.

"Yeah, we could be twinzies." I answer sarcastically.

"Mhhmmm girl." Brent relies.

We just shop around the mall for a couple hours until we get hungry. "Food." That's all that Cameron says.

"Oooooh! Lets go to Red Robin!" I suggest, seeing a Red Robin restaurant in the food court.

"Fooooood!" I hear Matt running towards it and Carter behind him recording, probably posting it on vine. I start to crack up laughing.

Then I see Taylor start to film and go to everyone, "Bout to get some food with these nerds..."

"Nashty here."

"Sup." Shawn says.

That's what all of them did. It was less than a second for everyone. Until he came to me, and Taylor was still talking really fast, "And the most beautiful girl and my best friend..."

"Hey, it's Sky."

I get a notification right away saying that I am tagged in a vine. Taylor put as the caption 'Heading to Red Robin to get some food. Red Robin...Yumm! Sky is Shawn's younger sister if you were wondering. And she's just like a sister to me. Haha.' And then he tagged all of our names.

None of the other guys know that Nash asked me out. How would they react to this? How would Shawn react to one of his best friends dating his little sister? Oh shit.

I sat by Nash in a booth and he held my hand. We've only known each other for two days, but it feels like I've known him for eternity. Could it be true love?
