The Past Runs Into The Present

*Flashback*

Blake is walking up to me. I've known him for a long time. He's best friends with Shawn, and I sort of am.

"Hey Blake," I smile at him.

"Hey Sky, I have to ask you something," Blake looks nervous.

"Is it bad?" My smile fades away. I'm concerned.

"No, not at all," Blake assures me.

"Okay, ask away." I rock back and forth on my heels; awaiting his response.

He gets down on one knee and I give him a worried look. "Will you, Skylar Mae Mendes, go to homecoming with me?"

My heart is racing. I never thought Blake would ask me out. Who knew he even liked me that way? I've always secretly liked him, "Yes Blake, I will go to homecoming with you," My smile reappears on my face.

Blake picks me up and twirls me around. I've always wanted a guy to do this. Blake isn't like the other guys I have dated. I know he cares for me.

I'm awake. My clock says it's 8:45. I think of the day Blake asked me to homecoming and every moment in between.

Blake has been so good to me since we've been dating. We hang out all the time, he gets me gifts just because, and he treats me like no one else has before. It's been about a month since we started dating.

Today is homecoming. It starts at 7:00pm. Blake said he has something special for me. What if I get a limo? That would be amazing. I spring out of bed filled with excitement.

My dress is a strapless high-low dress. The bottom is purple, the top is white, and there is a sparkly belt on the waist that compliments the purple and white shades of color. I got heels to match the belt.

I'm getting my hair, nails, and makeup professionally done. I'm so excited. My nail appointment starts at 2:00, then I'll get into my dress, and lastly my hair and makeup will be done.

It's finally time, homecoming. The doorbell rings and I find Blake standing at the door in a tuxedo. He looks very handsome.

"You look stunning," Blake states.

"You don't look to shabby yourself," I add with a smirk. Then I remember, "I'll be right back, I'm going to tell Shawn I'm leaving."

I walk upstairs and into Shawn's room, "Hey. Blake is here. Wanna come say hi?"

"Nah, I'm fine," Shawn says depressingly.

"Okay. Bye then. See you later," and with that, I walk out.

That's when I see it. A hummer limo and a car. What's the car for?

"Oh. My. God. Blake! You're the best!" I run into his arms.

"We're taking the limo to prom, and that car," Blake points to the really nice SUV, "that's stays here. It's yours."

"What? Ohmigosh! That's amazing!"

*******

We've been at prom for only one hour and it's the best night ever so far. Blake and I have danced all night together with my best friends. Ariana and Taylor both have dates too. Ariana is dating her dream guy, Sam, and Taylor is dating one of the guys she likes, Dylan. It was like the perfect night that anyone could ask for.

I wish Shawn was here. It would be better. He has been in a mood lately. He is always sad when I'm around. It's been going on for about a month now. Actually his mood began when I started dating Blake. Shit! That's it, I'm stealing his best friend away from him. How could his own sister do this?
