Chapter 5

Surprised

I wake up in an unfamiliar room. There's a bright light above my head shining right into my eyes. A lot of people stand around me. "Sky. You're awake. Are you okay?" I hear a voice say.

"Um. I think. Yeah. What happened?" I am so confused.

"Well you're in the hospital. You fainted. The doctor says it was from stress." The light got dimmed. Someone must have noticed I was squinting. The voice is Shawn. I see Nash and Taylor by my side also and the other guys right behind them.

"I'll go tell the doctor that she's awake." Jack Johnson said while walking out the door.

"Why would you get so stressed out about me going on tour?" Shawn asks. Wow, he really didn't know why.

"I just got all of you guys in my life, and now you're going to leave me again."

I look at Shawn, then Taylor, then Nash. Taylor had a smile on his face, "How about you come with us on tour? You can be a special guest. And before the tour starts, you can be in some of our vines and videos on YouTube to get the fans to know you."

"Bart said no more guests," Shawn looks down.

"Screw him if he says no. Skylar is coming with us," Taylor adds.

"When does the tour start?" I ask really no one in particular. I look around and most of them have a confused look on their face.

"In 2 weeks from today." I hear Hayes say. "And we can be special guest buddies."

I laugh, "Alright Hayes, I'll take you up on that deal."

The doctor walks through the door with Jack J. right behind him, "Okay Skylar, you're free to go. Just try to stay calm and guys, don't put too much stress on her. She may have a repeat of this." The doctor said sternly to the guys.

Nash gave me a piggy-back ride to the car and I get shot gun next to Cameron. On the way to the house, we all got hungry. Brent suggests Taco Bell and we all agree.

When we finish eating and get home, we just sit on the couch. "How about we make a video and introduce Skylar since she's going on tour with us?" I hear Aaron suggest. I just smile at Shawn as if it were up to him. I'm used to begging him for permission. You know how your mom would say, 'go ask Dad' or your dad would say 'go ask Mom'? Yeah, well my parents would say, 'go ask Shawn.' I don't know why, but they just did.

"Lets do it." Shawn says, and everyone woo-s. Jacob set up the camera, Cameron gets some supplies, I have no idea what for, and the rest of us found a seat. I sit on Shawn's lap with Taylor and Nash right beside him.

Jack Gilinsky starts the video by saying, "Hey you guys. It's Jack and Jack, Hayes, Nash, Shawn, Skylar Mendes, Taylor, Matthew, Carter, Aaron, Brent, and Jacob here." Everyone waves as Jack G. points to us and says our names, "If you didn't realize, we have someone new. This is Skylar, Shawn's younger sister. She's only a year younger though."

"She will be joining us on tour," Cameron adds, "So, we're trying to get her YouTube popular by putting her in our videos. You may also see her in our vines. Please follow her on any social media sites listed below after the video."

"Okay, so shall we get started?" Carter asks.

There were murmurs of 'yeah's', 'yes's', and 'yupp's'.

"We are going to do a question and answer so you guys can get to know Skylar." Matt says.

"First question," Brent starts to read off his phone, "Who is your favorite out of all of us."

"Um, should this count Shawn, it would be kind of unfair."

"Not including Shawn." Carter adds.

"Well, I still can't pick a favorite. You guys are all amazing." I just sit there and smile at the camera. Most of the questions were things like that. One in particular caught my attention. It was: Are you dating Nash? We just skip that question. Nash and I weren't ready to tell the public.

The video is finished. Aaron offers to do the editing and I go over to him and say, "Hey, Aaron."

"Hi Sky." He smiles at me.

"You almost done?"

"Well someone is eager."

"It's my first video. Do you know how many people follow you guys on Twitter, Instagram, and Vine?"

"Yes, I am aware." Aaron smiles at me again.

"Well I could gain that many followers. I only have 500 followers."

"Only? That's a lot for someone who isn't that popular."

"Yeah. I know but it's nothing compared to what you have. Make sure to cut out the question about Nash and I dating."

"I know, I have done this before Skylar. Now leave me so I can finish." He shoo-s me away and I get out my phone to make a new tweet:

I tag all of the guys in the post. I also post the same thing on Instagram with a picture of the video.

I start getting alerts like crazy saying I had new followers. I just shut my volume off for now. This was really surprising though. I can't believe I'm actually going on a Magcon tour with my brother, 'brother', and boyfriend. Shawn and I are really close again like we were before. I shouldn't have worried so much.

The doorbell rings. I say, "I got it!" and run to the door. Who could be here this late? It was already 11:00pm. I can't believe who it is. I scream out of shock.
