Lost Memories

Chapter Nine

As Nariko and I traveled into the forest to get to the next village it was a feeling of darkness, much like Nariko herself. I gripped tightly onto the horse as it walked swiftly through the darkened area. Without warning, a giant Harishi demon appeared, and tried to attack me on the horse.

" Ahh! Nariko! we've got-trouble!" I tried to fight him off but he gripped me tightly, staring at me then licking his lips in delight.

Be still. I'm going to create a soul resonance, then grab the sword and thrust it into his chest!

" Okay, whatever you say!"

" Silence, you useless human! why to you speak to yourself.....it's odd. I might as well should just devour you!" it hisses.

By the powers of heaven and hell, let them combined and give us strength from now on!

Suddenly I could feel myself glowing and then the sword started to glow purple, I unsheathed it and brought it up over my head and cried out as I thrust it into the monster as Nariko told me to.

The beast cries out in pain sending me flying a little ways before landing on the ground. As I look up I watched as it suddenly disintegrated into the air and the sword lay stuck in the ground. My eyes are wide from astonishment of what I just witnessed.....that was Nariko's power and mine combined....I didn't realize that I had that much- or that I would get such a rush from it.

I see that by your heart rate speeding up means you enjoyed that power?

I pause before walking to get the sword. " I don't know what your talking about, I was only happy because the demon was killed that's all."

Whatever you say Kagome...but you can't lie to me.

Suddenly I would see a memory, but it wasn't mine....it was Nariko's. I watched as a little scene played out of her running around with someone killing innocent people, then in the blink of an eye it was gone.

As I start to walk down the road I stop to sheath the sword. " Hey, are you okay Nariko?"

I'm fine....just had a little thought come to mind, but it's nothing.

We continued walking on foot since the horse ran away frightened from our attack.

As Inuyasha and everyone reached the village finally after Koga did, He and Koga could smell Kagome's scent faintly in the area.

Walking around they walk towards an inn where Koga stood there with his hand full of a mans shirt, interrogating thoroughly.

" Listen here you drunk bastard! I know you've seen the girl I'm describing of, because I can smell her scent all over you! Now tell me where she is!" Koga yells loudly.

" Sure I may have seen a girl with that description, but she was not sweet, she was seductive!" He rubs his head, " And would a nice girl get a man drunk after lying to him about sleeping in bed with him? I think not!"

" Well did she say why she was wet?" asked Koga furiously.

" No, I brought her a kimono so her other one could dry, except she took my good pair of clothes and left her's here.....she took everything, even my horse...." said Akihiko embarrassingly.

Koga snatches Kagome's uniform out of his hands and grips onto it tightly before Inuyasha snatches the clothes out of his grip.

" Hey I had those first mutt-face!" he yells, reaching out to grab them back.

Inuyasha pushes him off still holding onto the uniform. " Yeah right! I'll be holding onto these!" Finally they both calm down. " So what's the scoop on Kagome?"
