Lost Memories

Chapter Six

As we both approached the hut, everyone was awake and eating a meal that Kaede has prepared for everyone. I sit down and begin to quietly eat my food, Inuyasha comes and sits down next to me. I eye him awkwardly and as he caught me staring at him so I quickly looked away.

Its quiet until I raise my voice. " Why are you all so quiet around me?"

" What ever do you mean Kagome?" questioned Kaede.

My voice starts to get shaky. " I mean you treat me as if I'm not the normal one.....Look I may have lost my memories, but you don't have to step on eggshells just to be near me!"

" We meant nothing like that, it's just almost miraculous to see you up and well after what happened!" said Miroku.

I stare at him confused. " What do you mean what happened?"

Sango puts down her bowl. " Kagome, a lot happened before you woke up once more......how can I put it simply-"

" She's tryin to say that you died.....you were killed by your evil soul and then you just woke up and ended up in the current state your in now." said inuyasha with a straightforward tone.

I stare at Inuyasha after he spoke. " I-I......died?.........." I can feel my heart beat and race inside my chest. Slowly I placed down the bowl and crawled to the sleeping mat I was sleeping on and dozed off still from the shock.

When I woke up and stepped outside, I looked up to see the clear sky then I eyed around, I can visualize almost everything that's happened slowly playing in my mind, I quickly ran into the woods.

" Kagome! where are you going?" yelled Inuyasha as he ran after me.

Everyone picks up there pace and slow down once they realize where I'm heading. I keep running until I slow down, stopping instantly.

I stare at the brown well that sits in the middle of the open area. Slowly I walk up to it, touching it slowly a smile starts to cross my face.

I turn slowly to Inuyasha, " I know this place....I've been here before....yet I haven't."

his eyes start to light up a little. " What can you remember?"

" I remember a girl.....a certain girl, who used this to travel between the two worlds......and she came to see the boy that was stuck to the tree......"

Inuyasha's eyes dim down, trying to force a small smile he stares into my eyes.

" That's.....great Kagome....."

Slowly walking back I could feel something going off in my body, like I could sense something that I needed to look for, slowly I turn around and there stood Koga. Quickly he runs down to me and smiles big.

" Oh! your the boy who saved my life with that other boy!"

Rubbing the back of his neck, he smiles sheepishly. " Yeah, well it was nothing."

I walk up to him and grab his hand, with an innocent look on my face.

" No, really thank you......I would've been dead if you hadn't saved me like you did....."

Inuyasha stares at me horrified. What the hell? no way! Kagomes acting like how Koga would! Quickly he pulls me away.

" Don't touch him , he's an infected flea bag Kagome."

Koga glares back at Inuyasha, " Well at least i'm not a useless mutt."

" You really wanna pick a fight with me!" Inuyasha gets in koga's face.

Quickly I step between the two of them. " Guys that's enough....besides, I have a bad feeling about this place...we shouldn't be here right now...."
