Lost Memories

Chapter Ten

When we stepped into the place, we got stares and everyone was in a panic once they realized that we not here to bring peace. Suddenly Nariko started running around shooting arrows that were on fire onto people's homes and then started shooting at the people. I stared at her with horror. Is she really laughing, at all the terror she's causing for these people...

" Kagome! Create a barrier to keep the smoke from escaping, we can't leave a trace that this place was harmed understand!" she yells with a grin on her face.

" Gah!"

" Ahh, no please!"

" Please, won't someone stop this-"

" Zobongetzu! Shield form!" I yell out.

As my voice echoes all over the place I can feel the energy from not only me but from the shikon jewel itself creating the power to form a barrier which goes up and covers the place like a dome.

" Hey Kagome! I sense some soldiers coming this way! why don't you take care of them?" she grins and I mirror it back.

" Quickly men, we must protect the lord and princess from these demons!" shouts the man on a horse.

My body froze. Did he just call me a demon? Slowly I grip onto my sword tightly, quickly unsheathing it I stare at the man. I could feel darkness overflowing inside of me...and I enjoyed it's thrill......whatever memories I had left I had to protect otherwise I would be a useless puppet under Nariko's control.

" I-am-no-DEMON!" I shout at him. Quickly I started to sprint at the man and leaped into the air bringing my sword down onto him.

"GAHH!" he cries out before I slice him with my sword. I breath out heavily as I spring forward, laughing at the soldiers who scream as I cut them down.

" Come and get me! I dare you! ahahahaha!"

Nariko smiles as she starts to light the dead carcasses on fire. " Diablos, dracul-"

Both dogs turn from cornering few of the villagers that were cowering in fear.

" I need you to go and take care of the soldiers and anyone you see to your liking, except for the lord and princess....save those two for Kagome and I."

Both dogs stare, before leaping away and up the hillside to where the castle was.

" Soon, we shall take care of this place once and for all, then It will be under my power....and Kagome with be nothing but a slave to me." she says in a low voice.

( In the forest)

The sun began to set for the day everyone stopped and started to make a fire. Koga, was not sure about stopping but gave in easily. Probably because he was hungry. As Inuyasha looked around at everyone you could tell that they were all just as uneasy about not having Kagome around as he was.

" Well let's try and get some rest, tomorrow might be the day we find her!" said Sango.

I sit up against a tree holding tightly to my tessiaga and kagome's school shirt. Please let Sango be right.....Kagome where are you?

(Back at the village)

I quickly sliced the last solider that was standing. Breathing heavily I lower my sword then as I looked around, I felt a sensation of overwhelming emotions come over me, I started to have tears fall down my cheeks, but I wasn't crying. Then I started to feel ill and started to throw up.

My body started to shake, as a memory crept it's way in.....I remember feeling like this once before...

I sit down on the ground and raise my hands to my face. Oh no- W-what have I done?!

My head jerks up to hear a child whimpering. I stand up slowly, walking slowly. I stop a little bit and turn to see there were three children hiding in a hut. I open it and they start to cry and beg for their lives. I stare at them with wide, horrified eyes. They think I'm a monster....

" Please, don't cry....." I say softly. A little girl cries louder and I shush her softly.

" Listen, I need you three to get away from here, there's a village not far from here....go and get help.....okay?"

They stare at me nervously and cautiously before heading out of the hut and sprinting into the woods behind there home.

Please, go find someone to help....because I can't do much....

" Kagome! where are you?" yelled out Nariko.

I run out of the house, sheathing my sword. " What do you need Nariko?"

" Come, we need to get to the castle....I have a feeling that our little 'friends' are close by."

I nod and slowly follow until were sprinting up to the castle. Once we make it up there, I walk through the gates and immediately cover my mouth from all the mangled, dead bodies that layed everywhere on the ground. I stare and make direct eye contact with the two demon dogs who sat there calm and awaiting orders.

These poor people......how could they....how could I have done that to those soldiers.....

" Place your empathy aside for now Kagome."

I look up at her shocked. Of course, she can hear my thoughts....as if they where her own....but I can never truly hear hers....

When we walk into the castle, we get to a main room and there tied up was the lord, and princess of this castle. They look up at us terrified, Nariko walks up to the Lord and puts her foot onto his back causing him to fall on his stomach.

" Now listen here, you low human pesticides. I'll let you have your chance to live. But you only will receive one, your daughter and you will live as long as you serve me without saying a word. If you disagree then I shall have Kagome here, kill the both of you slowly....."

He looks up at her and nods. The girl is whimpering and finally as we set them free they did as we said. I could tell they would do something, especially since Nariko had the princess prepare a bath for her. As she was about to purposely add one too many logs to the fire I gripped onto her shoulder. Her body jumped and she kneels down forgiving me right away.

" I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I won't do it again!"

I kneel down to her. " Please keep your word, I don't want to suffer by getting beaten up in your place....nevertheless having to kill you and feed your ligaments to the demon dogs just outside...."

She stare up at me with fear, and watches as I walk away and back into the home.
