Lost Memories

Chapter Seven

Trying to catch my breath, I could swear I've experienced this type of breathing with the burning sensation in my lungs once before.....and the same guys are running after me....again.

" I wish they wouldn't follow, I don't want to hurt them!" I say loudly.

Look, I'm your darker half, why don't you let me get in control and I'll make sure they won't follow us.

" By killing them? that's crazy!" I yell at Nariko.

Hey, don't judge what I do. And besides why do you care about them....I know for a fact that you can't remember them especially that half demon....it's not like he's that important.

" But he is! I know he is!" My voice slowly starts to go silent after I remark that to Nariko.

Quickly running through the woods I stumbled across a road and quickly ran down it, finally crouching next to a rock to catch my breath I could feel that it was somewhat safe since they were still way behind. Except for that wolf boy....he's awfully fast.

I grip on to my sides breathing heavily. " I don't know how much farther I can run like that without collapsing from exhaustion..."

Kagome, I can get us some help-

" No.....I'm not going to get favors from Naraku....he's a vile disgusting mutant!" I say disgusted.

Like you said, you won't make it much longer....He'll only take us to a village that is a little ways from here. Even I would like to stay as far away from that bastard as possible.

I stand up straight thinking. " Well.....fine. If it gets me away from these two before I hurt them...so be it."

Naraku, you heard Kagome....we need your assistance! send for us to the next village over please!

Suddenly Kagura appeared from the sky and landed softly on the ground. Then the two boys that were chasing me appeared from the forest edge running towards me like banshees.

" There's Kagome!" yelled Koga.

" What's Kagura doing here!" Quickly he sprints to my side until Kagura lifts me up onto her feather.

" Kagome! what are you doing? Kagura let her go now!" yelled Inuyasha furiously.

I stare down at him with a sad look before looking away slowly.

" K-Kagome?" he said nervously.

" Inuyasha, can't you see your little lover dosn't want to-" Taunts Kagura.

" He's not my lover. He never was, and never will be.....because of that woman...." I say depressingly.

" What the hell is that supposed to mean!?" he shouts to me.

You need to end it quick...finish it and leave already!

My chest was aching, I can't believe I would be saying goodbye forever to Inuyasha....I told him many times that I wanted to be by his side....and now I'm breaking that small promise because the truth is...I was only there momentarily until that woman came back.... Quickly without thinking I look up to see that Inuyasha was grabbing onto my arm.

My eyes are wide open staring into his yellow eyes....I-I can't believe him.....Inuyasha...your making it harder then it has to be....

Slowly my eyes soften, and I stare at him with a tear streaming down my cheek which shocks him . " Inuyasha....stay away from me." He let go without thinking and quickly Kagura lifts the feather off the ground and we start to fly away. Inuyasha notices and starts yelling my name.

" KAGOME! KAGOME!"

I started to feel worse then before. Finally drawing in a breath.

I must say, well done. I think you handled it rather well, and once we land in Kito we'll start preparations for going after Naraku and getting the sacred jewel's back so we can become stronger!

" W-What do you mean by getting stronger?" I questioned.

Why to become a goddess of course, or a powerful priestess, then I can kill that kikyo for good-

" I thought we agreed that we wouldn't kill anyone, that's why were getting away from them isn't it?" I said figuratively.

Well, yeah I guess that's true....but we will need to get some things straight of course.

Back where they were, Inuyasha and Koga stare at the sky still shocked....and majorly confused.

" Did she just tell you not to look for her?!" asked Koga.

Inuyasha dosen't answer but simply starts to run back to the village.

Koga starts to run after him as well. " Wait up you sly mutt!"

When they reach Kaede's hut Kikyo is sitting up in the bed drinking some water and looking a little better. Everyone looks up at Inuyasha and Koga and then looking behind them.

" Inuyasha, tis where Kagome be now?" asked Kaede.

He stares at the ground. " S-She's gone, she flew off with-..."

Sango and Miroku stare at eachother wide eyed. Quickly Miroku sits down his drink.

" You don't mean that she went home.....to her own time.....do you Inuyasha!?" said Miroku nervously.

" You have to go after her! her mother's going to be so upset and confused!" yelled Sango.

Koga leans up against the wall. " He wasn't even finished! he was going to say she went off with Kagura, she's probably under some mind control of Naraku's.....because I know that Kagome wouldn't do that intentionally."

The room is silent. Finally Kikyo sighs lightly. " It must be Nariko's influence......It sounds like something she would do to Kagome......and it worries me."

Everyone stares at Kikyo like she's gone mad, so she replies to there expression with a blank face.

" Sorry for the off stare, but sister kikyo....what causes ye to worry about Kagome?" asked Kaede.

She silent for a moment. " It's why she ran away.....I fear that's only made matters worse. Consider that she started to remember the memories that hurt her or made her dark side show.....which means her good memories are disappearing."

Shippo rubs his head. " Whoa.....I still don't understand what your saying...."

" To try to put it simply.....I think that because she's under Nariko's influence.....I fear she might turn into something dark and dangerous."
