Lost Memories

Chapter Thirteen

He stops instantly and stares at the soul being taken deeper into the underworld. Sessohmaru snaps him out of it.

" Don't just stand there! go after her soul!" he yelled to Inuyasha.

He shakes his thoughts away and starts to sprint again towards the soul. Leaping over caverns and over other spirits he jumps and lands right towards Kagome's spirit, grabbing it and started to flea back up to the opening.

Sessohmaru follows and suddenly they were stopped by something. It was the lord of the underworld.

The demon looks up and speaks in a dark voice. " Who ist thou that cometh to my land of dead....stealing a soul that belongeth to me?"

Inuyasha and Sessohmaru stare at eachother then at the demon.

" Hey, Kagome's soul isn't yours to have!" Inuaysha shouts.

The demon looks at him surprised before grinning. " I see. Well, I won't be giving up her soul that easy.....it's not everyday we see such a pure soul come through here."

He stares at the spirit before coming up with a plan. " Yes, this shall be interesting......I want you to answer me this one question."

He sneers at Inuyasha. " What makes you think she would want to come back to the mortal world with you?"

Inuyasha stares at him confused, until he starts to think about it.

I mean he has a point.......what if she dosen't want to come back? Here she's safe.....and at peace.

Suddenly a thought popped into my head. she could end up like Kikyo....it is a possibility.

He shakes the thought away. Glaring at the demon, " Kagome would want to come back! at least there she's not by herself! and I know she would do everything in her power to save me if it were the other way around!"

Handing the spirit to Sessohmaru who holds her awkwardly, Inuyasha whips out his tessiaga and aims it at the demon.

" You better get out of our way otherwise, there's hell your going to pay!"

The demon stretches out his hands. " Dare fight with the Demon Lord....that takes balls. Fine I'll fight you!"

Instantly they both charge at eachother fighting off one another with they're attacks. Finally Inuyasha found an opening and charged there.

Using wind scar, he attacked the Demonic creature that was separated from its body until it spoke.

" Ah, it was nice to fight someone....I haven't done that in ages."

Inuyasha starts to walk away with Kagome's soul until the Demon stops him.

" Young man, I implore you listen.....Putting her soul back is one thing.....getting her to wake up is another...."

Inuyasha looks back and ignores him before leaving the underworld with Sesshomaru and Kagomes soul.

As they step out of the portal quickly Inuyasha sprints down the hill towards the village, noticing that it was almost daylight. As he walks closer his stress starts to decrease a little.

Kagome's body was placed in kaede's hut, bandaged and yet cold and lifeless. Everyone looks up to Inuyasha and smiles once they see he has her spirit.

Carefully he kneels down. " Kagome...please come back to us. We need you." He pushes the spirit in and everyone is dead silent.

Slowly the sun begins to rise and as the light shines on Kagome Instantly she lights up a little before it settles inside her.

For a moment it looked like nothing happened but Suddenly she opened her eyes wide and coughed for air. Breathing heavily.

After a moment of catching her breath Kagome looks around at all the happy and teary faces of everyone. Suddenly everyone hugs her.

" Gah! guys what's the matter?!"

" KAGOME!" they all shout.

Inuyasha holds me close to him. " You alive! I'm so happy your okay!"

I look at Koga whose kissing my hand softly. " We were all worried about you kagome."

Later that day I was able to walk around a little. I smiled more then I did before. Sighing with relief that I didn't have to die...not yet anyways.

As I walk along the trails of the rice gardens I took in everything around me. Then I realized I was being followed.

Stopping in place. " Alright!"

I turn around to face Inuyasha whose frightened by my annoyed glare.

" Inuyasha why are you following me?!"

He stands up straight folding his arms. " Yeah right! like i'd follow you!"

I peer at him. " Inuyasha you really suck a lying."

He sighs heavily. " Look, I just wanna make sure your alright that's all."

I look down at the ground then slowly I smile. " I'm alright Inuyasha...you don't have to worry anymore."

As I start to walk away he grips onto my hand stopping me. My eyes widen from being surprised, slowly turning around I see him blushing, then he pulls me in close and hugs me tightly.

" Please....don't leave me ever.....I don't know what I'd do without you...." He says softly.

I look up after pulling away. " Inuyasha.....you really are worried about me..."

He nods. " Yeah...so?"

I smile before giggling. He looks down at me frustrated. " What's so funny!"

I start to walk away smiling and when he stops me again, I look up at him and kiss him on the cheek. " Thanks. I'm happy you care so much for me."

As I walk away he touches his cheek still shocked. " K-Kagome...."

Everyone starts to clap. Until Koga runs up and swoops Kagome off her feet.

" K-Koga!?"

He smiles." If your going to kiss anyone it should be me!" As he runs off Inuyasha runs after him.

" Hey! get your dirty hands off Kagome!"

" No way dog breath!"

" It seems everythings gone back to normal rather quickly." said Miroku jokingly.

Sango smiles. " I think I see romance blooming though....don't you-"

She stops when she could feel his hand touching her but. He smacks him across the face.

" Perverted monk.."

" Ahehehe." He laughs lightly.

As kikyo started to leave, she looked to back to Kaede. " It seems that Inuyasha has found someone...." She smiles softly. " Kagome may be best for him."

With that she disappears into the forest. As Kaede looked back at everyone and smiled.

" Your right sister. I can also see a start of a romance kindling."
