Evan's POV:

I opened the door to my house with shaking hands, there was no sounds besides the squeaking of shoes, the clanking of keys and short tired breaths as we walked into my house.

I was too tired to go to my room so I plugged my phone into the charger by the couch before just plopping down on the couch, I pulled myself inwards in an almost feeble position and used my arms as a pillow. I heard Connor shut the door and accepted the fact that he wasn't going to leave any time soon. "T-There's snacks in the c-cupboard by the fridge and some apple juice in there too I-I think... oh and if you get bored I actually have a few games for the Xbox, i-it lags a bit and it's all we could get but it s-should work pretty well." I mumbled out already dozing off.

Connor said nothing, probably nodding before grabbing the remote off of the arm off the chair and turning the t.v. on as he sat down at the front of the couch by my head. I couldn't even give it a second thought before falling asleep entirely.

~nap time skip~

I woke up to the sound of harsh hushed voices in the door way. I sighed debating whether or not I should get up and look into it when I realized that the one of voices was Connor. My eyes shot open and I looked up, I saw Connor at the door looking fairly angry as he whispered to the person at the door.

I pulled the blanket, that had been placed on me at some point, off and walked up to the door while Connor argued with the person at the door. "C-Connor?" I squeaked out. I hated when Connor was mad, when he was mad he was irrational. That was never fun.

Connor froze and turned to look at me. "Hey Evan, shit, sorry, did we wake you up?" Connor asked glaring at the person at the door at the end of his sentence. I shrugged and cocked my head to look at the person at the door. To my surprise it was Jared Kleinman with an angry and worried look on his face.

"Hey Jared, w-what are you doing here?" I asked quietly, still sort of waking up. Immediately the worry and anger that has been placed on Jareds face was replaced with a practiced smirk and smug look. I sighed, forcing myself to not roll my eyes as I knew Jared was going to turn this situation into something embarrassing. For me at least.

"Well Acorn you weren't in school yesterday and I was trying to contact you since then but you didn't pick up your phone. So, like the good person that I am, I came to see if you were alive and I stumbled upon Mr. School Shooter here." Jared said with manufactured confidence.

I rose an eyebrow at him before turning to grab my phone noticing one, that it was 6:30 and I had been asleep for about three hours, immediately I saw that I had 56 messages from Jared along with 14 missed calls along side his texts.

I scrolled through the messages, most being 'treeboi are you dead?' 'You better not be dead I need you for car insurance.' 'I just called you and you didn't answer, rude.' And 'Hansen if you don't pick up I will come over to your house.' The last text was ' that's it you acorn I'm coming over, you better not be dead.' Which was sent five minutes ago.

"So what happened treeboi? I honest to God thought you had died, I've been texting you for hours why haven't you picked up? Also why do you have sex hair?" Jared said as he leaned on the door frame, ending his sentence with a smirk while also pointing to my messy head of hair.

I felt my face turn bright red. Rather than 'treeboi' everyone should just call me a tomato. "One, I-I do not have 'sex hair' I h-had an attack at school and C-Connor helped me out and brought me home for the rest of t-the day. I fell asleep after he b-brought me home, t-that's why my hair it's m-messed up." I said trying my best to calm my blush and my stutter.
