Evan's POV:

I turned around quickly at Connor's voice. He didn't sound upset or mad, concern is what I picked up in his voice. "O-Oh! Hi C-Connor." I quickly saved my letter and closed the tab before turning back to him while signing out of the computer. "J-Just f-finishing up my letter? Why a-am, amInots-supposedtobehere?" I asked, my words running together because of how fast I was talking.

Connor shook his head quickly. "No no, I mean what are you doing here, at school. Yesterday wasn't exactly the best day for you." Connor said walking over to me.

"I-I mean yeah it was pretty... b-bad. But I can't just not go too school. Anyways I-I'm okay now! I a-also have notes a-and homework to do and I don't want t-to missanythingimpor-" I started but Connor cut me off.

"Woah woah woah Hansen, its okay, take a breath okay." Connor said putting his hand on my shoulder. "Look I'm just trying to look out for you, your anxiety seems to be on overdrive and I'm thinking it'll only get worse."

I nodded, he wasn't wrong. If I was being honest I felt awful. I was tired because even though I took naps and slept it was mostly restless. In total I woke up about 6 times in the night after not going to bed until 3 in the morning and woke up due to a nightmare that had me shaking and crying. He was also right about the anxiety.

Then because I wasn't hungry and my mom wasn't home I came straight to school to the computer lab to write my letter because I had been skipping on writing them every once in a while.

         Then Connor arrived.

And suddenly I felt the tiniest bit better.

"I-I mean I think you're right but I can't just leave and what would my mom think and what would your parents think I just don't want you to get in trouble a-" I rambled looking everywhere besides Connor. It didn't last long as he grabbed both of my shoulders and turn me so I had to face him.

"I'm getting you out of this school. I understand you are worried but I can call in a favor with my sister and get homework for you, and besides Evan, you should also take care of you." He told me, even though he sounded nonchalant the worry that ran through his eyes when he mentioned his sister made me tense the slightest bit. All I did was shrug in response and he let me go only to turn around and click the off button on the computer and grab my bag. "So if you're not gonna take care of yourself I guess I will." He said jokingly, handing my bag and pulling out his phone.

"W-Who are you texting?" I asked timidly as we walked out of the computer lab.

"Zoe." he replied with a simple shrug as we walked twords the front of the school. "It'll take a few minutes for her to get here but other than that I'm sure we can use the car. I'd just owe her."

We stayed at the front like Connor said before seeing Zoe, I tried my hardest to keep my blush in check but despite my effort I was probably blushing madly as she walked over to us. I was lucky enough that Connor wasn't paying attention to me. Neither was Zoe as she seemed to stare daggers at Connor.

She stopped in front of Connor and I with her arms crossed I'm an annoyed fashion. "Why am I here again?" She asked. She glanced at me before doing a double take "Oh hey Evan." She said, all I did was wave back at her. She then turned her attention back to Connor who seemed to be at a loss for how to approach the topic.

"Because," he took a breath seeming to know the answer he's about to get "I need a favor" Connor said quickly with a shrug.

Zoe looked at him confused before piecing together his sentence. "No." She said simply.

"C'mon Zoe, I really need this favor." Connor said giving her puppy eyes. She looked away and rolled her eyes. She turned back and looked at him, then at me, then back at Connor.

"Before I consider giving you an answer what is the favor?" She asked picking at her nails in a bored manner.

"I-I had a r-really b-bad panic attack yesterday a-and C-Connor wants to t-take me h-home." I stuttered out, somehow managing to control my blush. While we had spent a lot of time together recently I never got used to the butterfly feelings I got in my stomach whenever I talked to Zoe. She didn't seem to notice but instead looked at me surprised, probably because even though I hang out with them often it took a lot to get me to talk.

Zoe shook the surprise off of her face and looked back to Connor. "You just need the car?" She asked.

"Wellll noooo." Connor said, drawing out his words.

         "No?" I asked

"No?" She groaned, making sure to make it clear that she was annoyed. "What else do you want." She said moving her backpack so she can grab the car keys.

"Could you take notes in our classes?" Connor asked wringing his fingers together in an anxious gesture. I didn't understand why though. I knew their relationship was rocky but he was nervous to ask his sister for a few favors? Was their relationship that bad?

Zoe looked surprised. "You want class notes?" She asked finally pulling the keys out of her bag and swirling them in between her fingers.

"Well not exactly for me," Zoe's eyebrow rose in suspicion. "T-They're for Evan so he doesn't have to worry about them." Connor finished unsteadily.

If I wasn't mistaken she gave him a sly and knowing smirk before rolling her eyes. "You owe me even more than you already do." She said handing him the keys.

Connors eyes lit up and for a second he leaned forward as if getting ready to give her a hug. I watched as they both flinched and their eyes darken. "Thanks a lot Zoe." Connor said genuinely, Zoe shrugged in return and turned to walk away. Connor turned around almost as fast as she did and started walking out of the school without giving a glance at me.

I silently scurried behind him as he walked to the blue-ish green car sitting in the parking spot, parked perfectly. I walked over to the passengers side as Connor got in the drivers seat, turning the key and listening as the car began to growl to life. No words were exchanged as I buckled in and as Connor pulled the car out of the parking lot. The last thing I heard from the school was the sound of the late bell. We drove for a while not stopping when I realized I didn't know if Connor remembered where I lived. I was going to open my mouth to ask if he knew but he beat me to the punch.

"Hey, uh, do... do you want to visit somewhere with me?" Connor asked timidly, making me nervous by taking his hands of the steering wheel to rub his neck awkwardly. At least he was a better driver than Jared

"U-Uh I-I mean s-sure I guess... where?" I replied.

Connor put his hands back on the steering wheel. "To an ice cream parlor I know." I nodded my head and shrugged my shoulders. "Also um," Connor started. I looked at him confused. "You, uh, you like trees right?"
