Skulduggery stood there, his head hung low as he listened to his only family member left talk about his wife. He didn't know how to act. He didn't know what to do so he cried out in pain. He had lost the love of his life, and he was hurting.
"Thanks for coming" Skulduggery spoke black bags underneath his eyes. Bella just couldn't wait to get rid of him. Skulduggery is the most annoying out of the lot. Bella couldn't believe that she hasn't killed him already, she couldn't believe she didn't kill him first.
He had always been a good father, caring so much, that pissed the girl off the most but she loved him. Bella looked across the room spotting Skulduggery filling his glass with whisky and skulking it down with easy.
"Hi" She spoke once she walked up to her father.
"Hi" Bella stood in silence for a bit, feeling the tension in the room, too awkward to ask what she really wants to but skulduggery didnt speck, he didnt even look at her. "Can I-I... Maybe can I go home"
"Yer, you can, the party's such a disappointment. Valkyrie wouldn't have wanted it." Skulduggery wobbled around already drunk. Bella couldnt help but smile seeing her father like this, in so much pain and sorrow
"You tried your hardest. That's all she would have cared about" Bella moved in hugging Skulduggery's waists close to her, that was a mistake. Skulduggery embraced her, feeling loved while Bella just couldnt wait to let him go, to move away from it all. She was never a cuddly type of person, she hated it, just like a lot of things. One being the person touching her.
"Normal." Clarity laughed, but reminded Bella on the way she needed to act in public. Bella of course obeyed but not without rolling her eyes behind her fathers back.
"One more week." Clarity said making Bella smile, one more week then the family is back together, then everyone will be save and Bella will be able to protect all her family and love them with all her heart.
"Youre a mini Valkyrie" he smiled down and she smile up trying very hard not to kill him there and then but that wasn't the plan Clarity didn't want that plus a lot of people would see then everything would be ruined.
They stared, looking right at each other in silence for a long time, no one dared to move and Bella felt this action to be very creepy and uncomfortable but of course Skulduggery didn't dare give up, one because it had been a long time since he got a hug and felt loved from someone, two Bella was finally hugging him and showing him love which she hasn't done since Sophie died and three if he pulled back it would make him less manly and properly hurt his ego that was already to big for him so Bella pulled back.
She squeezed her eyes tightly shut and tried not to gag while kissing her father on the cheek once done the tiny action that took so much effort for Bella she quickly turned on her heels walking away to the car without another word to anyone.
"You did brilliant. Nice acting, they all fell for you." Clarity praised while Bella grinned her head down to the ground in hopes no one saw that beautiful, toothy smile she shown at her dead mothers funeral surrounded by sad people mourning her death.
Bella swayed her hips while walking in the tight, long black slacks and a black blouse with a black jacket on top. Bella wore tall, massive heels that were also black, red lips and a black smokey eyes as well with her hair up in a messy looking bun . She was a beautiful nightmare. Dead dropping gorgeous but it wasnt anything new. She was a nightmare dressed like a daydream and Bella knew it.
"I couldn't save or help Valkyrie and Sophie but I will try my best with you, my sweet Bella. I promise" He turned walking in the way of the refreshments for another drink to drown his sorrows in.
