Chapter 10

Skulduggery got home exhausted to find his sweet Bella cooking a delicious smell dinner for two. Skulduggerys mouth started watering just realizing how hungry he is.

"Hi" Skulduggery says grabbing a spoon and tasting the yummy food

"Hi dad. How are you?" Bella says in a loving voice, acting like a wonderful house maid.

"I'm ok exhausted though" He replied rubbing his head while yawning

"Sit, sit!" Bella rushed over grabbing a chair and placing Skulduggery in it softly.

"Thanks darling"

"Anytime I hope you love rice and meat"

"It'll be lovely"

"Go for a shower while I finish up"

"Ok thanks Bells" Skulduggery spoke walking up the stairs to go to his room to shower.

"Anytime" Bella said softly after he had left, smirking like she always does. Leaving the rice to cook she bent down pulling the bottle she brought from the drug shop today out of the cupboard. A skull's head was placed on the jar. She knew putting this into Skulduggery's food will kill him but it's for the best.

Bella dished out the food onto two plates, one for her, one for skulduggery. She made sure she had her plate on the left and his on the right as she poured the bottle of clear liquid onto his food, poisoning it. Placing the bottle under the cupboard just when skulduggery came out dressed in his sleepwear she smiled. Handing him his plate, she sat down opposite him, watching her dad like a hawk ready for the kill.

"Oh, it's looks yummy, thanks sweetheart"

"Yes, dig in" Bella smirking taking a fork and filling her mouth with food.

"Dig in" Clarity repeated, evil laced in her voice. "Enjoy it Skulduggery because it'll be your last meal"

Skulduggery had no idea what happened. There was no way of stopping it, it was too late as he brought the spoon up to his mouth eating the deadly food not even tasting any bit of poison. He had no idea what was in the food but he didn't didnt know that he had to know, after all, to him Bella was harmless. She was his darling who would never try to hurt him. Gosh he was so, so wrong.

Bella watched with eager eyes as her father keep eating the meal she made just for him.

"It's delicious. You're so talented, just like your mother way. Well done." Skulduggery compliment Bella as she smiled replying with a small "Thank you."

"You must have worked very hard on it."

"It was nothing." Bella turned red in the face and Clarity laughed which made her more red.

"Don't be silly. You must have spent hours."

"Well, I'd do anyone you for." Bella said trying to hold a straight face.

"Even kill for me." The oblivious father said, joking but not knowing the full story.

"You have no idea." Bella whispered under her breath, stirring her dinner around then taking a mouth full in. "I love you." Bella muttered and Skulduggery laughed at his adorable daughter.

"And I love you." He replied only his was filled with the truth while Bella's was all lies but that's what she did best and he never knew.

It fell silent and awkward. The pair didn't look at each other only at the plate of food. No movement was made and it stayed like that for a long time until Bella made the first move to fill her hunger and Skulduggery joined

Skulduggery never once stopping to think what could be in the meal. He could never predict what would happen next and once he find out his world will be turned upside down for the rest of his life... well what's left of it, that is.
