Chapter 11: The audition

After school I went to my locker and got my lunch sack, and books. Then a familiar voice said, "I agree." I turn around to find Josh. I raise one eye brow, "what?" I said in confusement. "Hate the player and the game, there both pretty stupid. What was that all about anyway? " I was shocked, he seemed more sentimental. Then a girl wearing a red sleeveless crop, tube top and black denim shorts ran to him, pulled his neck towards her and kissed him! What the heck? It's the first day of school. They stayed there for about six seconds then I coughed to get his attention,  and he pushed her away. "Not now" he told her. She frowned and walked away. "See! You can't possibly agree with my theory." I softly yelled. "Why not?" he asked. "Don't you get it, you're the player, how can you tell me you agree? How can you tell me you hate yourself when your so self absorbed?" He just stood there stupified. "Maddie, I" I cut him off, "I have to go." I grimaced. I walked outside and started walking home, when I see Chloe and a boy walking towards me. The boy was cute, he was tall and had brown hair. "Hey Maddie, are you walking home too?" she asked.  "Ya......... um who's this?" I asked curiously with a smile. "Oh I'm Nick, Chloe and I live pretty close."  he said.  "Oh ya?" I smiled. He gazed into my eyes as I gazed into his."So where do you live?" he questioned. "Rodeo Palms" I answered "I just moved in." he smiled "Cool me and Chloe live there too." I smiled back. "We should all walk together then." Chloe replied. During that little chat I didn't even realize chloe was still standing there. We walked for eight minutes. " This is my stop, I'll see you for your audition Maddie." she said eagerly "Okay bye" I said, "Bye Chlo" Nick shouted. " Your auditioning at Abby's?" Nick asked. "Ya, why?" I was wandering why he'd care. "I dance there too." he said quietly. "Your a dancer?" I exclaimed. "Shhhhhhhhh! I don't want the whole block to know!" I laughed as he covered his hand over my mouth, and grabbed my waist. Then we stood there for seconds. "Sorry, I...I " he stuttered. "No problem." I stated. He flashed a smile. It was the cutest smile I've ever seen. I climbed up the stairs of my house onto the porch. "This is your house?" he asked confused. "Ya why?" he retreated and said, "It just looks really cozy, my house is a half a block away. See you at 4:30." he gave me a half smile. "Ok bye" I slammed the door wandering what he meant by cozy.  I beamed as I entered the door. "Who was that, your boyfriend" Mackenzie shouted.  "He might very well be." I whispered and smiled. I saw Kenzie's disappointed look. "I'm just kidding squirt, you got me." She smiled big and gave me a hug. I went in the kitchen and made a strawberry banana smoothie with organic fruit. Ya, my mom was a health nut. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. After that I moisterized my face and powdered it. I then applied nude eye shadow all over and dark brown for the crease. I used a light highlight nude for underneath my brow and put on mascara. When I was done,  I changed into one of the best dance wear I had. It was high-wasted leopard print booty shorts with a thick aqua band around the top and a leopard print sports bra with aqua blue bands clenching the straps. For my hair I put it in a very small bun that was on the lower part of my head, with braided sides. I put on avacado cucumber deodorant from dove and went through the arch and down the small balcony.   It was 4:02 and I saw Kenz appear. She had on a black sports bra with black and white polka dots. It had a little white trim detaling on where the bra ended. Then she had short booty shorts that were white flowery lace. Her hair was in too french braids with light pink ribbons tied at the end. How does my sister always outdo me? My mom always takes the longest. "Mom hurry up it's a ten minute drive. I wanna stretch there too." I yelled. "Ok honey one second, and make sure you have tops over your dance wear, it's Pittsburgh. " Me and Mackenzie jogged into our rooms. I grabbed a thin lilac pullover cropped sweater that covered the thick blue waist band on the high-waisted shorts. All you saw were cheetah prints. I walked out of my room and into the living room. I see Kenzie with a light pink pullover sweater with hearts scattered over it. The pink looked adorable with the lace shorts. Why does she keep doing this to me. I do the middle splits and rested my elbows on the ground.  I stay there for a minute and did the front splits, lean forward and catch my foot for 30 seconds. After that I do the wall splits for 27 seconds and my mom comes out. Ok  girls, its 4:04. make little lunches because we're going to be there until 8:30. I grabbed my lunch kit whoch was a soft plain purple square one. Mackenzie had one that was purple with pink japanese flowers on them. I put in a half sized arizona tea can, an toast with nutella and bananas over it, and some wheat gold fish. When me and Kenz were done, I grabbed my little dance bag and ran to the car in my light brown combat boots. We arrived at the studio at 4:15 on the dot. I saw a lady in all black and she was surprised we we're all ready. "Hi girls, wow! You're all ready and everything. You got your mini lunch kits, dance bags. I like you already." My mom laughed, I smiled big, and Kenz giggled. "Ok I assigned Chloe to be your guide. Gianna can you get Chloe?" Gianna nodded and went into studio B. Chloe came out and waved to me, I waved back. "Chloe tells me that you go to the same school as her so I assigned her to tell you and teach you everything just in case you make the audition." Chloe smiled and grabbed my hand. "Thank you" I told Ms. Abby. "Your welcome sweetie." I heard that Kenzie's guide was someone named Paige. I thought it was a cute name. "Ok Maddie, at this studio you take the privates you want to take. I take ballet and focus on lyrical too. What are you thinking of taking? We enter studio B and stretch in the corner."Well I excel in tap in lyrical so I guess those." she smiled then told me that we take partner work classes every day, your picked privates four days out of the week unless you schedule another one, acro and contortions ever three weeks, and do conditioning every friday. She told me we are taking a partner class after my audition. After I stretched Chloe and I worked on our turns and ariels. "Ok Maddie it's time for you and Mackenzie's audition. I walked out, turned back to Chloe and she smiled at me, but I still kept my worried look. I walked into studio C and found Kenz stretching. My hands were shaking and sweating. My knees were weak and my breathing was heavy. "Ok girls front split both sides and middle split. " We glided down with our arms up.
