"No Cindy, your doing it wrong". Jack laughed rushing over to me. The lights were tangled as I mistakenly hang them up around the window, but unfortunately they came off. "They go up like this". Said Jack. I felt his arms around me as he lifted the lights above us pinning them to the wall. His hands began to run down my arms as he insisted on helping me down the ladder.
"Thank you". I whispered. Jack stood behind me subtly, his warm breath hitching my neck and his hands meeting my waist.
"Hey Cindy, I got the extra batter-". Zach's voice breaks as Jack and I pull away from each other quickly. "Um, sorry". Zach coughs slowly walking out of the door. My heart drops and face flushes red as I run to chase after him.
"Zach, wait." I pierced my lips as he walked faster holding the batteries to his side. "Zach, stop it!" I exclaim again. He turns around, his face in a furious red as he stops in his place. "You've got to be kidding me Cindy". He hesitates as I stand in front of him. "I'm gone to do your favors and your already smuggled on someone else!"
"Zach stop, please" I whimpered grabbing his arm. "It was nothing, he was just helping me with the lights". I lied. What was I thinking? Zach was the only person I had eyes for..
"Look Cindy, I like what we have going here but if your going to have someone else on your side or in your head at times, I dont want it anymore". Zach huffed at me pushing the batteries to my chest before getting into his car and driving off.
I sighed before approaching Jack again. "What was that about?" Jack asked. "Nothing". I mumbled as I continued to put up the curtain. Jack looked at me again before helping me. I noticed he parted his lips like he going to say something but nothing came out.
As we continued to decorate the house soft music played in the background.
"Hey, let's take a break". Jack implies grabbing my hand. "No". I pulled my hand away. "We should finish this up". I continued. "Cmon Cindy". He says grasping my hand in his before twirling me around to the music. Sign of the times by Harry Styles played subtly on the radio as we swayed back in forth to the soul beat.
I grinned widely as Jack and I continued to have a good time but something about that song reminded me of Zach. I frowed a bit as Jack continued to clasp my waist. "What's wrong?" Jack asked before lifting my chin and slowly stopped dancing. I shook it off before he brought his hand to my waist again and pulled me closer.
"Will ice cream make you feel better?" He giggled.
