"You fucking screwed up Cindy!" Jill mumbled fiercely tossing me a photograph I've never seen before. I shook my head confused looking at the paper in front of me. It was a picture of Zach and I kissing at the edge of pier. Tears brimmed my eyes as I swallowed what felt like my gut and looked at Jill remotely.
"How are you gonna get away from this?" Jill asked as tears flowed from my eyes. I didn't have the energy to respond or even process what was happening to me, and the best I could do was just listen. "Listen, I don't care what the fuck you do with Zach". She spat before continuing. "But you betrayed me, I counted on you to do your job. You lost this company money and unfortunately the band as well; because you decided to make us look bad by making it seem as if you were dating two band members at once". My heart dropped as Zach walked into the office in remorse. He and I stared blankly at each other as Jill continued to lecture us and it felt as if my heart was tearing apart slowly.
"Wait here". Jill said before leaving Zach and I in the office alone. Zach took my hand and held it with his as I continued to cry in silence. "I'm so sorry". Zach whispered wiping a tear from my eye. "Please, Cindy. We should of left that night". He reassured me again. I paused before speaking to him. "It's not about that, I can lose my job and I can lose you in a heartbeat". I replied. Zach looked at me again holding our hands together. His eyes were dreary and droopy as if he was tired. "And if you lose your job?" He asked. "I would have no money to stay here, I would have to go home Zach". I sniffled as he held my hand tighter.
Jill walked into the room as Zach and I let go of each other. "Cindy, if you don't patch this up in a week I'm unfortunately going to have to fire you ". I nodded understanding her as she handed Zach and I papers. "Can you give us any idea how we can fix this?" Zach asked as she raised an eyebrow. "There's nothing you can do Zach, don't get in her shit and ruin your life and career". Jill spat again. Zach held my hand tighter. "She's right Zach, I can do this on my own". I said as he nodded.
Jill sat in front of us again before pulling her papers together and adjusting her seat. "Look, I'm sorry Cindy but you should of been a bit smarter, and if you don't continue to use your brain, I can't have you part of this management".
