"JAMES FLANAGAN!" The science teacher screamed, causing every kid in the classroom to freeze. "Get out, now!"
James threw the glass test tube down on the side bench, shattering it to pieces as he carelessly left the classroom. A couple of his friends chuckled, watching James get sent out of class once again.James was by far the naughtiest student in the class, probably even the whole school. Everyone knew who he was, despite the fact that he spent more time in detention than he did in class. He didn't care about his grades since he hated school, however he was actually quite smart. He could already read and do simple math so everything else was seen as unnecessary. When are you ever gonna need to find X? Or know the circumference of a circle? To him it was a waste of time- he didn't even get to see his mates Eldon, West and Hunter at lunch break. He would usually be kept in isolation, usually for getting into fights or mischief. It was usually over absolute crap, but to him being popular was more important than any grades.
And it certainly worked. Despite his behaviour, James still managed to get any girl he wanted. In fact, one of the reasons James misbehaved so much was because the girls usually fall head over heels for a 'bad boy'. He tended to hook up with a new girl every week, but they didn't even seem to care. They were all getting drunk at party's and having sex anyway. It was nothing special. Besides, it was a miracle if he even remembered or knew the name of the girl he slept with, but that didn't matter to him. He was a player. That's what players do. Sleep with countless girls but can't even remember in the morning. All he needed was a good night partying and to sleep with a girl to keep him sane. They all thought he was so hot, that's why they would all do as he said. Even if they knew it wasn't gonna be any long-term event.
Despite James only just having turned 17, he still went parting every weekend and getting drunk. It was his time where he didn't have to be in that place he called hell, so he would spend every minute doing things he enjoyed. Math homework was defiantly not on his things-to-do list. In fact James had actually became quite clever at getting girls to do his homework for him, so Instead he would spend time working out at the gym or with his mates. Whenever he was angry that was always his outburst- besides he really didn't like getting on the wrong side of his friends or family. He was always in enough trouble with school anyway.
James was a bit of a dick, but inside his family and friends knew how sweet he could really be. He would never lay a finger on his mates, and always looked out for them just as he did for his parents and little sisters. He loved and cared about them a lot, and would hate to see anything bad happen to them. As well as this, James had always been especially close to his mother. Somehow she managed to forgive all the stupid mistakes her son had done, even if that did include countless trips to the school office and getting told what a let down of a son she had. She knew that deep down James was a caring boy- not that his teachers would ever see that.
"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME!?" The clearly annoyed teacher asked James angrily. He stood there, leaned back against the wall and twisting his cap around his finger.
"Nah-yah" James slurred, clearly not even listening to the lecture she had just given about mixing the wrong substances.
"I warned the class three times NOT to mix them chemicals, you're lucky it didn't blow up!" She said tutting her head. James just murmured something about 'not hearing', before attempting to go back into class. Mrs Maddock was not accepting that behaviour."Isolation, NOW" She grumbled through gritted teeth, trying not to go ballistic as James snatched the report card from her fingers and strolled off. "Such attitude!" She snarled as she headed back into the pretty terrified classroom full of students.
----
After about 15 minutes, James finally made it to isolation. It would usually only take 2 minutes to arrive from the science block, but James being James he had to take he long way around- making sure to pass by West and Eldon's class.
"Bro look" The dark skinned boy said to Eldon as he spotted James chuckling from outside the door. He noticed the bright orange report card in his hand.
"Doesn't surprise me" Eldon laughed, watching James pull a fake sad face and laughing as he pressed his face against the glass. West laughed also, whilst shaking his head at James who quickly walked on by when the teacher told Eldon to pay attention. This time James actually went in the direction of isolation.
----
"This is stupid" James muttered to himself as he sat in isolation. He had been sat up there alone all day, and to make things worse he could hear the bells ringing and and the excited bustle of students coming out of class. He should be there too, but no. He was stuck here, in school until him mom had collected his siblings from school. They refused to let him leave without having a little chat with his mother, even though they went over the same thing for less than 5 minutes. Thankfully she didn't take too long to get there. In fact, she was in the office more than James was in class. Yes, it was becoming quite an issue now.James was pointlessly looking around the all too familiar office, not even caring to listen to the conversation being held between his deputy head and mother. They always talked about the same old stuff, about how his behaviour in class was a distraction to other students and that he would be missing break for the rest of the week. He had heard it all before, over and over. But this time, there was something new. Something which actually made his palms turn a little bit sweaty and his heart beat faster just a tiny bit faster.
"I think it's time to transfer James."

Hey guys, so this is my new book! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter, but first I just wanna go over something quickly. So I know 17 year olds don't actually go to schools like this but I didn't want him being like 14 because it wouldn't fit with his character e.g. Going out partying and sleeping with girls. So this is basically like collage or something but they still have all the lessons and it's just like secondary school:) Also I've just finished the third chapter in advance and I've still been calling it a school and not college🤷♀️so just flow with it aha :) that's all for now, please vote and let me know what you think so far💓
