"Good morning!!"
A random girl in a sleeping gown with orange hair and strange orange eyes popped her head into my room. She fully entered, making me sit up and lean against the headboard of the bed. She ran over to my window, opening the curtains with a bright smile. One more girl came in the room, straightening out a red and white flowy dress. She noticed me staring at her and smiled before leaving the dress at the foot of the bed. Her blue eyes were covered by her short, blonde side bangs.
"I'm Darlene, that's Daisy."
She pointed to the girl with orange hair.
"Get dressed, we'll be leaving soon," they both waved and left the room. I sat there dumbfounded.
This is what a house of demons is like during the day?
After getting dressed and fixing my hair, I stepped out of my room and went in the direction I assumed was correct. As I walked so many questions and thoughts went through my mind that I planned on discovering today. I arrived to the dining room I had already been in the night before. 5 pairs of multicolored eyes stared at me as I stared at the ground shyly. Mae approached me and pulled me towards the other girls.
"Everyone, this is Nari."
They all stared at me before a loud voice of alarm came from behind me.
"Sorry, sorry! I know I'm late!" A girl with green eyes apologized while fixing her ponytail. She looked up, and saw me. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"Oh, you must be Nari," she extended her hand, "I'm Amanda."
I shook her hand. It was noticeably smaller than mine.
"What took you so long?" Stella asked.
"Taehyung and I wanted to finish our game of tag. You know how he likes to use his freaking power during that game," she rolled her eyes as she adjusted her shirt.
"Can we leave yet?" Daisy, the girl with orange hair and eyes, pouted.
"We've already wasted enough time waiting for people, lets go."
"Wait," I stood at the back of the crowd, "Isn't there supposed to be another girl coming?"
The girls shared a strange look, exchanging it amongst each other.
"There are 7 demons, doesn't each one have its own mate?" I couldn't seem to figure out why they were looking at me so strangely.
"Sadly, no," Amanda answered, "The 7th mate died a long time ago."
I looked at Mae, surprised she hadn't mentioned that important detail. We decided to ignore what I had said and continue to enjoy our day.
We arrived at the top of a green hill with soft grass that tickled my fingers. But wasn't it just snowing yesterday? How did the weather change so suddenly?
Darlene and Amber set up the blanket and food while Mae helped me sit. The other girls bit their lip as the containers of food left the picnic basket.
"Who made all of this?" I asked. Darlene handed me a plate and fork.
"Oh, Jin and I have our hobbies. Cooking is just one of those hobbies," she smiled and opened the first container.
As we ate, I kept thinking about how to start asking my questions. Amanda looked at my face before speaking to the group.
"Do you have any questions for us?"
All their colorful eyes looked at me, waiting.
"Why didn't the demons come with us?"
