After a couple of days from staying in the castle, everything remained the same. Except for the fact that when I could avoid Hoseok, I would. My ankle and shoulder healed completely letting me roam freely around. I went outside when I had the chance. We had no trouble with Catherine for a while, making me a little bit curious of what happened to her. She could've been planning her next death game for us or she could've let us go. I doubted that it was the second option. Honestly I spent most of my time around Jungkook's animals, aka his dragon. Yes, the one that nearly killed me my first night staying here. Apparently he couldn't fly. His wings were broken when Jungkook found him so he took him in.

Strange story but sweet. I played with the tiger in the kitchen as well. Then Stella told me they had one more animal. I was expecting some sort of giant bird. But when Jungkook showed me it, I realized it was a dog. A regular dog. Not one with wings or extra sharp teeth or horns. A tail-wagging, slobbery-kissing dog. His name was Scotty. My parents never let me have a pet. Of course it was because I was a princess and I could never take care of it. I had only seen dogs running wild in the streets.

"He likes you," Jungkook handed me a tennis ball which I tossed across the room. "Probably because he hasn't met many humans his whole life."

"Dogs don't judge beings like humans do," I whispered. My own comment made myself thinking back to my parents.

As I let the dog lick and nip on my finger, a voice surprised me.

"I didn't know that princesses liked dogs."

I whipped my head around and Jimin was standing in the doorway with his arms crossed. I turned my attention back to Scotty as he licked my cheek.

"Agh!" I groaned and wiped it with the back of my hand. Jimin chuckled in amusement. I didn't realize it but Jungkook did.

"Hyung, you look jealous. Do you want to come hang out with your girlfriend?" I froze at those words.

"Yah, shut your smart mouth before I come over there and do it for you."

Jungkook laughed and showed no fear, "Whatever you say."

Stella's voice echoed down the hall as she called for Jungkook. Without hesitation, he exited the room. When I looked back, Jimin was really glaring at Jungkook with envy in his eyes. I looked back at the dog in front of me.

I could feel Jimin staring at me with his red eyes.

"You're staring," I said. He cleared his throat.

"I'm gazing."

"It's creepy." I rolled my eyes as I waited for his response.

"It's romantic."

I unknowingly smiled and found myself blushing.

I could hear his footsteps slowly approach me as he knelt down in front of the sweet dog. The dog greeted him and he gave it the same amount of attention. A sweet smile appeared on his face.

I didn't know but my heart suddenly bursted into butterflies when I saw his smile. Hundreds of butterflies, softly fluttering their wings, spreading warmth through my entire chest. That's what his smile did to me.

I batted my eyelashes and then continued to scratch the dog's chin. The dog rested his chin on my leg and slowly began to breath steadily as he closed his eyes. I stroked his head.

"In all the stories my mother used to read me, the princesses were perfect and had talking animal friends and a Prince Charming to save them. They were the girls I aspired to be. Even if they weren't real." I rested my hand on Scotty's back. "But my story is much more different."

He quietly looked at me. Scotty's head suddenly rised. I looked in the direction his head was pointed at. Stella peeked her head in the room.

"You two will want to come see this."

When we arrived in the room, everyone was gathered in a circle.

Jimin and I went closer and took the thing everyone was so excited about into our hands.

"In celebration of demons finding love. A ball will be held by the gods to meet and approve each mate."

"A ball?" Daisy squealed. Namjoon didn't seem to be even close to as excited as his mate was.

"Held by the gods," Mae repeated.

"God, I can't remember the last time I attended one of those," Amanda sighed.

"That's because we never have. You haven't, at least," Taehyung said with a smart tone. Amanda turned around with a warning look. Taehyung put his arms up in surrender.

"What do they have to approve? They chose us, didn't they?" Amber had a disapproved look on her face. I could see the obvious concern in her eyes.

Darlene stepped in and took the invitation out of my hand," They don't want another Catherine situation on their hands." Everyone awkwardly glanced over at me. Jimin quickly stepped in.

"We should all go get ready then. You know they don't accept tardiness." With that, everyone scurried off. The guys went one way down the hall while the girls went the other. Jimin looked at me one last time before following the boys in the opposite direction of me. Daisy took my hand and dragged me into a room that had the other girls in it as well. The sides of the room had dazzling dresses of all sorts of styles and colors.

"We thought this might look nice on you," Amanda handed me a dress. All of them looked at me with excitement in their eyes.

"Thanks..." I murmured. Once I tried on the dress and looked in the mirror, I could barely recognize myself. This wasn't like any dress I had worn before. All of their heads turned to my attention.

"Oh!" Darlene exclaimed.

"It's like it was made for you," Amanda glowed.

"Yeah I guess so..." I smoothed the dress over with my hands. It was a nude pinkish dress that had ribbons running down the back. I realized my back was very showy. If my mother saw me wear this, she would've immediately fallen into a complete rage.

"Darlene, I just don't know what to do with my hair!" Daisy complained. Darlene was busy at the moment so I jumped in to help. As I just finished up brushing her hair, Daisy placed her hand over mine.

"Don't worry about tonight. You're not like Catherine at all. They won't reject you if they chose you to begin with." Her hopeful smile could light up the whole room. I finished her hair and showed her the finished product.

"It's perfect, thank you, Nari."

I saw down as Daisy showed off the hairstyle I'd done. It was a bun that my grandmother had taught me how to do when I was young.

I sat down and watched the others decide on what jewelry to wear and how to do their hair. I must have dozen off when suddenly a shiny object flashed in front of my face and then something cold rested on my chest. I looked down and my necklace was resting on my collar.

"I thought it matched your dress. Plus it's yours anyway," Amber's calm voice spoke from behind me. "Don't forget what I told you."

My mind went back and recalled what she had said.

Make him forget her.
