Asriel and the human child had been friends for a while now, happily living among the Underground with all of the monsters... Until that day came....

Asriel and Chara had been planning to make their father a pie for a little while now and finally did it, though they made mistake in the recipe. The recipe had called for cups of butter, and the two had made the mistake of putting buttercup flowers in instead.

"Okay, come on, Chara! Let's go make the pie for dad!" Asriel called.

"Okay I'm coming!" Chara called back, catching up.

She was the one holding the basket of flowers they were going to put in the pie. Once they were home, they made the pie, after their parents went to bed. They wanted it to be a surprise. Twenty minutes later the pie was done baking and they went to wake Asgore up.

They both ran to Asgore's room quickly, but quietly too. Once they were in his room, Asriel climbed on top of his dad, shaking him in the process and waking him up.

"What is it, son?" Asgore asked him.

"Me and Chara made a pie for you dad! It's one of the butterscotch cinnamon ones mom always makes!"

"Thank you, children. I will be there to eat it in a little bit," Asgore assured them that he would be out to see the present they baked him.

"Okay!" Asriel responded, running back their gift for their dad, beckoning Chara to come. Chara then ran after him, also just as eager to see his reaction.

Five minutes later, Asgore walked out of his room to smell the pie, and greet his children.

"Asriel, Chara, I am here to try your present," he said

"Yay!!" Asriel and Chara said in unison, and Asriel grabbed the plate with the slice of pie that they had earlier prepared, bringing it to him.

"Here, dad! Try it!" Asriel exclaimed.

"Okay, okay. Patience will reward you," He said, walking over to his and Toriel's reading chair, sitting down and then taking a bite of the homemade pie.

"Are you sure you remembered the butter in it you two?" Asgore said to the two.

"Yes, dad we went to get the buttercups!"

Asgore froze.

"S-So you two put in buttercup flowers instead of cups of butter?" he said unsure, and worried, as the flowers were poisonous and could get him intensely sick.

"Yeah?..." Asriel responded, confused.

"Oh, no. You see, Asriel, buttercup flowers are dangerous," He informed them.

"Oh," Asriel said, looking down.

He hoped he hadn't hurt his father too much, and that he could be forgiven.

"Are you going to be okay, dad?" Asriel wondered out loud.

"I have not eaten enough to poison myself too much, but we must get rid of this pie immediately," he told the two.

"Okay," Asriel said, slightly disappointed that he had to dispose of something he and Chara put so much hard work into.

While Ariel and Chara were disposing of the harmful pie, Asgore told Toriel what had just happened. She was mad at the children for making her husband ill, but she could not blame them. It was a mistake, and they got confused.

Thankfully he had not eaten enough to take his life, he just got very ill.

While that was happening back at the house, Asriel and Chara were getting rid of the pie, scraping it off into the trash can.

That's when Chara got an idea. Once they were done with the pie, Chara had dragged Asriel out the door to the house and around the corner to tell him her idea to free all monsters.
