Two assassins were set to kill a girl. No questions asked. Just kill her and claim their prize. That was their mission. Except one of them was not supposed to visit Volney, the land of the dead and the other fall in love with a girl and...
After so long. I cannot believe that I have not written for the past week. If anyone is concerned, I had my exams. If you want more details, I will have exams every month. This is going to hinder my pace even more. I am so close to complete, but I just cannot. I will try my best though. :)
Two things, before we start. One, there is a poem (uhm, song) in this (You all agreed to read after reading the Author's Note, I did warn there). Two, this is a very long chapter. About 6k words (Again). Brace yourself.

Commander Reeya's wounds were getting better day by day. But that Commander was not strong enough to lead, she knew that much. Cahira bit her lips as the part above her brows begged her to set it free.
"Are you alright?" Nishan came and stood in front of her.
"Just another headache." She cleared her voice when she heard it shake.
"Just another?" Taryn's voice rose. "This is a routine for you! Your health is worsening! You need to take rest."
"But what is the use of resting when your country is at stake?" she snapped, balancing herself on a high boulder beside her.
Only the news of Afreen and Commander Rysen coming cheered her, but that too lost its importance when things started getting out of her hands.
Her camp was five feet away as she stood at the base of Daydra with the mountain's grey-blue rocks shining with no life. The birds which once found a home in those rocks fled upon the first draw of blood. The flora did not have any will to flee. If they did, she was sure they too, would have run away.
Commander Reeya and Fadeyka's Legion were stationed in the narrow gorge. Commander Levka's half the Legion was destroyed and the other half returned here.
"The typhoon did good numbers to their boats." Taryn picked a growing blade of grass. "Many were destroyed."
"Good numbers?" Nishan laughed humourlessly. "More are coming from Raiyara. Even Admiral Yara's fleets cannot stand it."
His laughter died as he concentrated elsewhere.
Sefine's posture became stiff when Estelle brought a woman. Her ebony hair was pinned and her blue eyes were painfully familiar. The mask concealed most of her features and she was dressed in black cloth that hugged her body, her leggings allowing movements to be free.
"Did you catch her lurking?" Taryn stepped forward drawing one of her twin blades out.
Estelle rolled her eyes. "She works for us. Why would she eavesdrop?"
