chapter 1

taehyung smiled as he closed the binding folder, its bulk proving the action to be more complicated than he anticipated. he looked upwards at his friends, a face painted of expectation and hope. the other six boys sat in their seats at the round table glancing at one another from the corner's of their eyes, cringing somewhat when meeting that of of taehyung's.

"tae," jimin started off hesitantly. he hadn't said much after that, closing his mouth and drawing his lips down in a pout. "i want your feedback," the excited boy said, still grinning, "don't hold back. i know it isnt finished, but constructive criticism is welcome."

"okay." yoongi spoke up out of obligation, seeing as none of his other friends seemed up to doing so. "why the fuck did you make me so fluffy for? of all of us, why couldn't it have been jimin?" he was near whining, having some minor complaints about his character's traits.

"uno of all," taehyung stuck up his index finger promptly, "you're one of the softest people ever, and i felt this role would be perfect. you're a squish who tries so hard to be cool, it's adorable. deux of all, can you really imagine jimin here having talons and dragon wings? no. no, one can. 'tis why he's the odd one who talks to forest trees and allows weird boys to sleep in his tub once they've been deemed to not be a known citizen."

"what i want to know is, why did we have such little parts? you should really treat your supporting characters better. i'm going on a strike." seokjin, dramatic as ever, slammed his palms down onto the table in a huff. beside him, jungkook rolled his eyes and stretched his legs out from underneath him. "really, as long as i'm not the one who has to be naked more than once, i'm good." the youngest shrugged in complacency.

taehyung groaned and rubbed at his temples, the beginning signs of a headache stirring."how many times do i have to tell you all that you won't be the ones acting?" he closed his eyes once hearing the collective objections of his friends.

"but it's only fair," seokjin said once again, "you're using our names so it might as well be us who play our roles."

"you were all but my pretty little muses who are now beginning to pissing me off." taehyung sat his book in his lap now. it was heavy, adding a weight onto his legs, but he didn't mind. it contained something he was quite proud of, despite it not being complete.

"i'm proud of him." namjoon commented for the first time, and at his side, hoseok readily agreed. "it's not bad so far, could use some polishing up though once fully completed." he continued, looking beside him for hoseok to add anything else on. "this will be your best play yet," the older clapped, always ready to compliment taehyung whenever he did something he was passionate about, "not only will it bring in more money than the last one, but more people will love it."

"if you turned it into a musical, it could probably be shown on broadway." jimin smiled encouragingly. he didn't think taehyung's play was half bad. in fact, all of taehyung's past plays have been huge hits. he was just somewhat uncomfortable with the fact that he and yoongi's names were being used, and the fact that they were actually a real a couple.

he wondered if this would bring them any unwanted attention.

"i have one question, though." yoongi said above everyone's compliments, bringing the room to a hush. "we all know you kim taehyung." he said, ominously low. "the play is complete, isn't it? you're really stopping it at that last scene?"

a knowing smile spread across the young playwright's lips. "how clever am i, right?"

"you can't!" seokjin objected, hitting jungkook on the shoulder to back him up, but the younger ended up kicking the other's shin underneath the table.

"i can, and i will!"

"you're evil!" hoseok shouted, standing up abruptly, his chair scraping backwards with an ear splitting screech.

taehyung cackled manically and wiggled his fingers against each other the way a plotting villain would. he thought leaving the audience on their seat would be the most heart wrenchingly spectacular way to close the final scene.

as yoongi and jimin are inches apart, orchestra reaching their final crescendo and the three-point lighting dimming for effect, the curtains would close and the play would come to an end, thus bringing the theatre lights to brighten up again and the actors to scurry off stage.

"i approve of this now." yoongi beamed, turning to his boyfriend with a goofy smile.

"the audience will have your head," namjoon warned, "they will marie antoinette you."

but taehyung cared very little. he knew what he was doing, proud of his work and excited to see the result. "an iconic ending for an iconic being such as myself." and with that, the playwright stood from his seat and gathered his belongings, leaving to his next destination of turning in his work to gain a budget for his newly found play.

"can you two kiss in real life so i can be satisfied?" seokjin pleaded to the couple sitting together.

and like in the taehyung's play, their faces were brought close, inches apart. yoongi's eyes gazed deeply into jimin's, lips parted and brushing ever so slightly. a look flashed in jimin's warm eyes and a silly, gummy smile appeared on yoongi's face. they tore away from each other, bolting out of their seats and sprinting towards the door.

"i can't believe we've been cliffhung in real life!" hoseok yelled above jungkook's high pitched laughter.
