Chapter 1: Halloween's horror

It's the month of Halloween in Brooklyn , New York. Where kids and teens decide to " be a different person for the night " Where adults can give candy to children and not be considered pedophiles. A fun night overall, for most people , not for the people of Brooklyn New York . This is where parents keep there children as far away from the streets as possible , where people decide not to go out and get candy knowing just knowing , someone or something was out there taking children.

I'm Gina , Gina Santiago and this is a true horror story.
Every single year when Halloween rolls in, a couple days before October 31, people claim that they have gone insane, there heads just " not right anymore" . But who says that they actually are telling the truth, that a creature like thing has targeted them. The 30th every kid that has " gone insane " disappear, only for their mutilated bodies to be found on Halloween morning. As if they had eaten a bomb and it's time was up, as if their last expression was a terrifying scream. Their face and body as pale as a white paper. This is Halloween horror. But let me not bore you with the facts and tell you the actual story. Two weeks before Halloween I didn't do my usual routine on Saturday mornings, sleep until 1:45 or later then go on with my day. No I woke up earlier because of one of my best friends , Phoebe. I was in a sweet slumber until this happened.
" Hey G, wake up I got news! " Phoebe said more chipper than ever.
I opened my eyes a bit to see her with her strawberry blonde hair in a dancer bun , a patterned romper, and designer heels. She's always one to dress up.
" mmmmmm " I groaned " wake me up when September ends! " I yelled from under my blanket as I burrowed myself deeper and deeper in my pillow
" Come on! Wake up or I swear to my abuealo, I will jump on you !" She said from a whine turned to a warning as she came closer to my bed
" no! Just let me sleep Phoebes, god " I said with attitude
" ok but you put this on yourself " Phoebe said as she cracked her knuckles and neck, she launched at me and tackled me
" Ok ok, I'm up I'm up !! " I said between laughs and shrieks
" Ok , thank you for waking up , now go take a shower and brush your teeth cause you stink " Phoebe said giggling under her breath
I stood up from my bed to be greeted by Poptarts, my puppy pug. She happily licked my legs and I gave her to Phoebe. I walked over to my closet to pick out a outfit then strolled my way to the bathroom. I turned the knob to hot water and it shot out of the shower head, I stepped inside the cold marble floor under my feet, I soaped quick and I washed my hair. I turned off the water and stepped onto the rug so it could catch my droplets of water. I brushed my teeth and hair and wrapped a towel around my hair and body. I ran from one location to the other, my bathroom to my bedroom , as I ran I practically slipped almost every step
" ok I'm back, just let me get dressed " I said
" k, Ima go downstairs your mom offered waffles and you know I can't turn down waffles"
Phoebe said going out the door with Poptarts in her arms struggling as she was pressed against Phoebes breast.
I got dressed and went downstairs to see Phoebe , who already ate about 4 waffles.
" Jesus Phoebes, when did you last eat " I said surprised on how she could stuff that much food in the petite case that was her body.
" oh shut up , your moms waffle are amaze" Phoebe said licking her lips
" oh why thank you Phoebe, Gina sit and eat before I go to my meeting " my mom said walking from the kitchen to the table . Her chocolate brown hair was bounced up in curls at her shoulders, her signature meeting hairstyle. She had her lawyer pantsuit on.
" ok mami, where's your meeting today ? " I asked to see if I was staying alone tonight or not
" it's in manhattan , I will try my best to come early enough for dinner if not you know the drill " My mom said while gathering her belongings for the meeting
" k " I said
" ok gotta go , be good! Call me if you need anything and you know how to heat up leftovers just incase I get caught up in work. Te amo, I love you. " my mom said kissing me on the forehead and hugging Phoebe
" Have a good day at work mami " I said waving goodbye
" thanks for the breakfast and have a good day at work " Phoebe said washing her plate off
After my mom disappeared after the doorway Phoebe grabbed my arm tightly and rushed me to the couch in the living room.
" Jesus Phoebes , calm down and take a dozen chill pills will you ! " I said trying to calm her down
" shh, I got news!! Since we are old enough my parents said that I can go out for , wait for it..."
Phoebe said excitedly then pausing for a drum roll I guess.
" HALLOWEEN ! " she said as she came closer and closer to my face with every syllable, so that our noses were almost touching and I could smell the waffles and syrup from her breath. When she said the word, my heart sank.
" gee, Phoebes, that's the anniversary of..."
I stopped myself knowing that a tear was seeping out of my eye and down my cheek
" omg , I totally forgot G, I'm sorry. Weird cause my mom asked yours and she was ok with it, even though your dad... "
Phoebe trailed off the sentence knowing there was going to be a awkward silence
" died. Yea " I said.

You might be wondering. My mom and dad were boyfriend and girlfriends in high school , they were best friends since diapers, well that's what my mom told me. Apparently in high school they hooked up , then that's where I came in. But this teen pregnancy was different, my dad, Tyler, was actually sticking around. My dad died on Halloween, he was one of the teens in the group. Two months later I was born , its always been my mom and I. I know I have never met him but , my mom has told me so many stories about how he acted just like me and how he named me, I look like my mother but only in the hair, I got most of my features from my father.

After the long awkward silence I decided to say something ,

" I want to go." I said
" Are you sure, it's the anniversary you and your mom always stay in " Phoebe stammered
" it's fine , maybe it's time for a change , plus it's our group " I said trying to reassure myself of my decision.
" yea Nikki, Alex, and Jess are invited. And going , and it won't be the same without you . And who knows , that monster out there, who says he or she is going to target us right? Right ? " Phoebe said
" Right? " I said nodding unsure. I think Phoebe noticed how dangerous this might be too. I was excited but also scared for my life , but it's true what she said, who says the person was going to target and kill us out of the many kids and teens out there right? Right?
