Chapter 5: So Much Work

Chapter Five

Hilary woke up at her normal time that day and got straight to work. It was the day before her coronation! She had a very quick breakfast and started to work. There was so much work to do that they didn’t have studies that day. Hilary had so much work to do! She had to plan the food, the decorations, pick the music, decide what dress she was going to wear! She didn’t know how she was going to do it all by tomorrow!

She tried to move around to talk to everyone about the planning her her stomach area was killing her! It hurt when she woke up and then she ate, even though she wasn’t that hungry, but that made it worse! Whenever she moved faster than a walk she always stopped and held her side. She went over to the kitchen to ask Chef how the cooking for tomorrow was going. For dinner they were having everything! Chicken, hamburgers, veggies, fruit salad, different sides, and every dessert you could think of! When she saw everything was coming along perfectly she went to see how the decorating was going.

Canon Events were doing the decorating for the party. Canon Events had been doing their parties ever since Queen Stephanie’s first baby shower. The lead decorator’s name was Anne Sherwood. Hilary loved to talk Anne about decorating and parties. Whenever they had a party at the Maxon residence Anne somehow knew the exact way Hilary wanted it. She also wasn’t afraid to tell Hilary her honest opinion. Hilary walked into the ballroom. There is the middle of the room was a ladder and standing on it was Anne. She had two color streamers in each hand, pink and turquoise. She also had a puzzled look on her face which said she didn’t know what to choose.

“Hey!” Hilary said skipping over in her slippers. She had so much work to do today that she didn’t bother changing out of her pajamas.

Anne jumped and turned around so her red hair flipped around. “Oh! it’s you! Good. I needed you advice on which streamer color to use.” She held up both.

“Well,” Hilary responded walked around the ballroom “It depends on what dress I’m wearing. It’s either the fitted, long, flowing orange one or the big sky blue ballgown. What do you think?”

“Oh the ballgown for sure! I love that one! Plus the pink one makes you look a little chubby and orange isn’t your color.” Hilary did love how she always told the truth but sometimes she got a little bit annoyed from the insults.

“The ballgown it is! If I’m wearing that one then the turquoise streamers.”

“Okay! Other than that the decorating is going perfect! Oh it’s going to look so good! But I want to surprise you for most of it so shoo shoo.”

“Okay!” Hilary said leaving

“WAIT!” screamed Anne so loud Hilary thought she was going to faint.

“Gosh Anne! What do you want?”

“Sorry I just need to know what time everything will start,”

“The coronation starts at twelve so they will be coming in here in probably one thirty or two.”

“Ok,” said Anne lost in thought. Probably thinking about the party.

“Well I gotta go,” Hilary said snapping Anne out of her daydream.

“Oh yeah! Bye!”

Hilary walked out of the ballroom and went down her mental list. Now she had to check the music they were playing.

She went over to the nearest computer and logged into her account. She checked iTunes for the song list. Pop, ballroom, rock, dan-. Wait ROCK? Hilary looked back at the list of songs. Yep there were a bunch of songs in the rock genre. Kiss, Mck Jagger, Elton John, Prince! Who would do this!? Cody instantly popped into her mind. Ugh! That little brat! Sometimes she seriously hated him and his pranks.

Hilary wanted to go and bust him for it but there wasn’t enough time! She had to make a whole new playlist with the songs she wanted. That would take forever! Especially because she didn’t know how to make a playlist. She had to find someone who wasn’t busy and persuade them to help her. It would take at least an hour to do all of the work!
