"I just want to thank you again Ezra, especially since l called so late." Natsu smiled, hugging his redhead friend. She patted his back and told him anytime as he grabbed his duffel bag from the floor. "And the breakfast was so good." He continued to praise her as she rolled her eyes. "Jellal! Make sure to kiss the cook for me!" Natsu laughed, making his final exit as Ezra flushed. She closed her eyes and muttered to herself.
"That idiot."
In reality, her face flushed as Jellal watched from the kitchen table. He didn't say anything, only letting it slide this time.
Lucy had met up with Levy for the weekly book check, to see what ideas each came up with. They put their ideas together to come up with another book idea so they can each write a chapter for. They always meet at Lucy's house, typically Natsu would be on his way out to give the girls some space but since he was kicked out yesterday the house was already silent.
"Where's Natsu?" Levy asked glancing around the living room. If her boyfriend was here he would've already greeted her.
"I don't know, we got in a fight last night." She sighed, taking out her laptop. Levy was suddenly uninterested in the initial reason for coming to Lucy's house.
"What happened? Are you okay?" She asked, closing her own laptop. Lucy realized where this was going and sighed, confessing her all the details of yesterday. When Levy asked Lucy was the big news she had to tell Natsu was Lucy shook her head.
"I won't tell you until you tell me where those bruises come from."
Levy instantly got quiet, she felt like she was back in Gray's office wondering what to do. Instead of saying something she opened her laptop and passed the conversation along, Lucy knew something was wrong but didn't press questions. That was for a different time.
"What's with the dress?"
Natsu was standing in the doorway with his duffel bag over his shoulder, [Name] standing on the other side.
"What's with the bag?" She spoke, a rude tone as she crossed her arms.
Natsu put a hand to his chest as if he was offended. "Attitude much?"
The girl sighed and opened the door wider, "I'm sorry, I just got back from hanging out with my mother."
Natsu had loved [Name]'s mother, she was such a nice lady. As [Name] got older she felt like her mother continuously got on her nerves, Natsu knew that.
He entered her house and he followed her to her bedroom. "What happened now?" He took a seat on her bed, it was recently cleaned in the room. He's seen her room messy when they were children so he never took to much notice to it.
"My mother is just a super petty person sometimes." She sighed, looking at the full length mirror in her walk in closet. She was checking herself out, Natsu always knew how much she cared how she looked when wearing a dress or skirt.
He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. [Name] was caught off guard and blushed, looking down to her floor. "You look nice." He smiled, removing his hands to take a step back.
To [Name], Natsu was a huge flirt. He was always complimenting girls although he was in a committed relationship. Although he only really complimented her, sometimes he was that extra boost of confidence that she needed. He only complimented his friends in a flirtatious way because they understand that he's joking, but with [Name] he's usually serious.
"It's for my next art show, do you think it's to short?" She wondered, turning to see her butt in the dress. She had on a royal blue satin dress it actually was short but that's no reason to not wear it.
"No, I think it's fine." He told her, glancing at her body in the dress. To him it showed just enough, her chest looked nice and it was classy. "Did I tell you that you look gorgeous?"
She rolled her eyes and a smile appeared on her face. She turned and gave him a hug. "Thank you."
He hugged her back as she told him to leave so she can get redressed. Complying he walked into her bedroom and she shut the door to the closet.
"Are you gonna tell me what happened with you mom now?" He yelled, leaning on the closed door. He could tell she was frowning as she changed, all he heard was a low yes as he waited for her to finish.
When she emerged with some black shorts and [Favorite Color] tank. "You hungry?" She asked, walking to the kitchen as he nodded. He hadn't ate since breakfast, they had to take care of a hostage at a police station.
She asked him what he wanted and he shrugged, "I actually am in the mood for [Favorite Food]."
[Name] knew well that wasn't one of his favorites, she had assumed he would pick chicken or something. He had only picked it for her and she appreciated the suggestion and began to make the dish. She begins to tell the story of what happened with her mother as he sits at the table.
"Then she was like oh my daughter doesn't really hang with me, this has been the first in a long time. Like you don't say that to your friend! When I got upset she was like why the look, like she doesn't know!" She shouts, grabbing a cup from the cabinet. She filled it with water and took a sip before handing it to Natsu who finished it. He sat silently and listen to her story as she stomped around and angrily sighed. "Then when I actually tell her the truth that she always makes me feel bad. She hadn't talked for the rest of the ride." She took out plates for the prepared food. "Can you believe that? If you can't handle the truth don't effing ask for it!"
She handed him his plate and utensils before sitting across from him. He had just thought all of her actions during the explanation was so attractive. He had completely stared at her the entire time and seeing her mad was slightly sexy.
"Man you can cook." He spoke, taking the first bite. "Talk about a perfect wife." He looked at the food with such awe, it even looked amazing.
"Shut up." She kicked him under the table as he let out an ouch. "Now." She spoke raising her fork. "Why are you here with a duffel bag?"
He rolled his eyes remembering the situation. "Lucy being stupid."
She looked down at her finished plate. "It's cause of me isn't it.."
He glanced down at his food and took the last bite. "No, she just has this lack of trust about her."
She picked up his empty plate and walked over to sink. "I feel bad for causing it-"
"I asked you to bring the movie over it's my fault." He sighed, standing up from the table. She only stayed quiet to continue washing the dishes.
He had asked her to bring the DVD they watched on their first official date. [Name] was helping recreate the date for their three year anniversary. He didn't expect for Lucy to blow up at his friend. It was a harmless act of kindness that was supposed to be for Lucy.
"Do you love her?"
The two friends were sharing a pint of ice cream, Natsu wasn't eating much of it though. He liked hot food over cold ones. To answer her question he gave a slight nod, her staring at the pint. "Have you ever thought of marrying her?"
He raised an eyebrow, as he took a small spoonful. "Sometimes.."
Her lips pressed into a thin smile, Natsu knowing her well enough to understand she didn't like talking about this. He took the pint and placed it on the table as she gave him a confused look. He took her into his arms as she hugged back soon after.
"I would never forget you. If I were to marry her, she needs to accept you."
