Six's POV

1 month later

"JOHN!"

Finally I get to him. He sits up in bed and slowly opens his eyes.

"Ride and shine, lazy," I spit as I throw a pillow at him. He gets the pillow off of his head and smirks at me.

"Good morning to you too," he says. I laugh and shove him with a small force of telekinesis. He stands up and pulls me over to him, wrapping his arms around me and kissing me on the top of my head. I close my eyes briefly and smile when John kisses me on my cheek and moves his hands to my waist.

I inhale slowly and lift my head to look him in the eye.

He kisses me on the forehead before grinning at me.

John turns to slide away so he can take off his t- shirt and pull a tank top on. He notices me watching and raises an eyebrow  at me. I feel my face get warm. On his way out the bedroom door John caresses my left arm, leaving a tingling sensation where we touched.

My life is so different now. In fact, more different then I ever imagined it to be in my whole life. I don't have to deal with the daily drama of the Academy, although I do miss the place. John and I have found a different way to be helpful. I can sleep in if I want to, John is still helping me with cooking but I'm going to get there. And I go for a swim sometimes if I can't sleep.

John ambles around and opens the blinds, allowing the natural morning light to pour into the house. While I pour some cereal into a bowl. He goes outside a moment and comes back inside with a letter. He holds it up to me and I can see that it is addressed to us, but there's no return address. I raise my eyebrow at him. We don't get much mail, because nobody has our address. We've kept it to only our close friends, the ones we know won't give it away to the public.

John sits down at the counter to read it. He looks at it oddly as he reads it. "You look like you're reading a love letter from Five," I say.

John shakes his head. "No," he says. "But it's just as weird."

I give him a look.

"Well, it's from The Academy," he says.

"That's interesting," I say. "What's The Academy have to say?"

"It's just a friendly letter. Asking us how we're doing and updating us on what they're doing," John states simply. "They also thank me for helping out in South Dakota."

"The girl that reminded you of Sarah?" I ask.

John nods with a reminiscent look on his face.

"Can I see it?"

John nods to me and hands me the letter when I reach out for it.

Dear John and Six,
This is simply a letter to update you on the current events in our operation. While you no longer have a full time placing in our organization, we thank you for your continued service from Florida and we would like to keep you updated on our progress. We send our warmest regards and hope you are both well. We have received the arrival of some new Human Garde, including the young lady from South Dakota. We would like to personally thank you for your aid in that difficult situation. The "harvesters" as they are called are still actively hunting Human Garde and we have been working to push them back. We would appreciate any aid you are willing to offer. There is another highly professional and well run organization that only harvests Human Garde with healing abilities in our experience. We believe they have been using the Legacies of those Garde to heal important figures for money. We would like to alert you of this ongoing operation and invite any aid you are willing to provide. And again, we hope you are well.
Sincerely,
Earth Garde
