Mods mean 'Modifications.' A mod is something you can add to the game to add new biomes, items, gamemodes, and ither cool things. Usually a mod adds items, mobs, and a new biome or dimension. A mod us made up of code. Certain numbers, letters, and words in an order. Codes can create textures, items, and anything possible. Mods are usually ysed uf you suck at Vanilla Minecraft, bored of it, ir just want to try something new!
Texture packs are technically mods, but in a different way. They changd the way items, blocks, mobs, and even skins look.
And the last type of mod is a resource pack. As of 1.7, they can add different sounds and music to the game. They can also add different textures to mobs items blocks and players. Similar to a texture pack.
Mods are perfect for series on YouTube. Unfortunately circles are impossible in Minecraft, so that's tge only thing you can't add. But you can and things that look similar to circles, but is actually just smaller pixels in the form of a circle.
