Chapter 19

Looking at Kari sitting in her seat looking out the window. I couldn't help but stare. I was truly blessed to have the chance to be apart of her life. We were driving on our way to the BET Awards.

" Are you excited ?" I asked her.

" Yes I can't wait." She said.

I'm happy to see that she's smiling. It's been a week since the diner situation. I can't believe a mother could just abandon there child like that.

We came to a stop.

" Miss we are here." Said Thomas.

" Thank you." I said.

Me and Kari both exited the car. All the cameras flashing. Instead of hiding behind me she started posing for the cameras.

She decided that we should both wear red. Since she's the boss. I had to agree.

After some pictures I had to do a interview.

" So how do you feel about your nomination tonight?" Said the interviewer.

" O I'm very blessed and excited. I'm so happy that I get to share this moment with my lil shadow. She's been a major part of my creative process for this album Sweet Sexy Savage." I said with a huge smile.

" So this next question is for Kari. Name your top 5 Kehlani songs." She asked.

" O that's easy. You should be here. Personal. Piece of Mind . Distraction. In My Feelings." Kari said.

" Alright that's all we have time for. It was a pleasure speaking to you both enjoy the rest of your night." She said.

" That was fun." Said Kari.

After the show.....

" Omg Keh I loved the New Edition performances. They were really awesome." Kari said with so much excitement.

" Kehlani can I have a picture." Someone yelled.

" It's getting pretty late. But I guess one picture won't hurt." I said to the fan.

I gave him back his phone.

" O and one more thing. You've been served." He said shoving papers in my hands, and then running away.

With confusion written all over my face I looked down at the papers.

Dave East was taking me to court for full custody of Kari with limited visiting rights. Has this man lost his goddamn mind. I don't care if he is her actual father. He's known her for a few hours and he wants full custody. I could understand if he wanted joint custody. I would never deny him the rights to his child.

If he thinks I'm about to lose this case he's got another thing coming.

Mr. East doesn't know that I'm Too Much of a badáss bītch.
