As Lucas was busy with his meeting and I wasn't assigned any task, I decided to take a walk around the building.
The cold breeze sprayed my face, making me smile. It was still drizzling. I kept strolling leisurely through the parking lot and crossed the road to reach the footpath, looking around different shops. A shop flooded by teenagers because of hipster clothing amused me. As I continued walking, I was met by an overwhelming smell of something freshly baked in a coffee shop, the same from where I bought coffee this morning.

I opened the glass door and entered the shop, which made the bells above the door chime alarming my presence. I didn't notice this place much because of my rage and fury in the morning.

I advanced towards the menu board and scanned it. Deciding to settle for a donut and a hot chocolate, I told the young worker as she nodded. As she filled the cup with hot chocolate, she gave me a smile and asked, "I guess you're new here, am I right?"

"Yeah, I'm hired as an assistant for one of the Banks brothers." I politely told her returning her smile. She just looked at me as a huge smile formed on her face, "Lucas or Nathan?" She asked enthusiastically while wiggling her eyebrows.

"Lucas..."

"Woo! That's amazing! How does he look from close? Means the bimbo is gone, right?"

I just chuckled at her name for Barbie- Natalie and nodded. "Yep the Barbie is gone. Why'd you be so happy for that?"

Inner me snorted.

She simply told me that the bimbo-barbie- Natalie was mean to everyone in the coffee shop. Starting a good day seeing her face wasn't possible. I simply smirked at her response and told her, "Well she won't bother you anymore now, because I'm here."

She laughed and said," I actually like you, I mean you're cool. Your clothing and all. And the race was amazing... "

I looked at her blankly. How did she find out about the race? She raised her eyebrows and reminded me that the shop is not far from the building, she was opening the shop when I drifted and parked.

"Well... voila!" I said lamely. She just laughed again and passed me my order. We chatted for a long while and I realized that Samantha, or as she asked me to call her Sam, is a really cool girl to hang out with.

I guess I should have tried socializing in high school.

I walked, okay I skipped out of the warm coffee shop waving at Sam and walked back to the parking lot, spotting my father's car.

Why is he here?

I took the elevator and stepped back on the familiar floor. Cautiously, I walked towards Lucas' office, spotting my father sitting comfortably on one of the chairs in front of his desk. He was smiling and talking happily.

Why dad, why you betray me.

I entered his office with attitude as their heads snapped in my direction. Dad giving me a genuine smile while Lucas giving me a mischievous smirk.

"Lucas, has your assistant no manners? She just walked in like she owns this place!" Dad complained to Lucas while scrunching his nose and furrowing his eyebrows at me mockingly. I just rolled my eyes at my father's humor and took a seat on the couch.

"I know, she's like that. I'll teach her that. She annoys the hell out of me too." Lucas replied, smirking.

" How come you even hire her?"

Last time I checked, my father dragged me to this hell.

"She's a challenge." He then coughed, "A challenge for this company, if you know what I mean..."

"I sure do Lucas, I sure do." My father just smirked at Lucas who was coughing awkwardly. I continued ignoring them as their conversation changed from the topic of 'Lets annoy the hell out of Candy' to 'Lets talk business'. I didn't pay attention to their chatting until my father decided to invite my boss over dinner.

"What? No Dad no!" I shouted at the same time Lucas smirked and replied with a "Sure".
I glared at my father but he was too busy planning the dinner menu in his mind to even spare a glance at me.

Wonderful.

All I needed was some Lucas-free time, though I've worked only 2 days here. And now, he's coming to my house to irritate me further.

As soon as my father left, I went to Lucas and placing my hands on his desk, I leaned forward.

"You're gonna skip that offer." I said trying to look intimidating.

Epic fail.

Lucas looked at me, and erupted into fits of laughter. Pointing his finger at me while trying to sober up, he said, "Nice one hobo, you never fail to amaze me". He laughed again, and said,"And I'm gonna come sweetheart. It's an opportunity I'll never want to miss..." He stated. I puffed my cheeks, and stabbed him in the chest with my fists, to which he stood unaffected.

Keeping a blank face, he picked me up and made me sit on his desk. As his signature smirk came back to his lips, he stated, "Sweetheart, I like your playful side." as he leaned closer till our noses touched, "as much as I like my effect on you..."

I realized that I was breathing at a fast rate and almost sweating.
Twice in the same day.

"Dude I swear it's just hot in here or what you just feel hap-"

"Ssshhh...Less talk more work." He winked at me before kissing the area between my eyes.

"See you at your house, sweetheart and my hobo." With that, he walked out of his office. Not that I was staring, but his shirt is too tight for him that I could faintly see the outline of his muscles. Nice show by the way...

Wait, did he say my hobo?

Still in my daze, I got off the desk and went outside the building. Sitting in my car, I thought about what he just did to me and how his effect on me is obvious.

What the hell is happening?

I don't think I'm gonna survive this dinner too.
