Not right

The feeling when you know you have something special within you, something that will keep you safe, but will always stay mysterious. You don't know if it's right to support the feeling or wrong, but you do it anyways. It's a charm on you, a kind of little spell, which you don't want to break...

Just kidding, I always wanted to be a Disney princess.

As Lucas followed me to the balcony and cheekily teased me on our kiss, I did the lamest thing a girl would do.

"Don't flatter yourself, Banks. The music got me that way." I said lamely and walked back in, biting my lip.

But I heard him shout behind me, "Sweetheart, everyone knows how much it means now!"

I decided to go back to the party and take my 'non alcoholic drink'. I took another can out and turned around to face Barbie, aka Natalie, dressed in black. But she didn't look jealous, nor gave me the bitchy look.

And all my cliche thoughts go down the drain...

"Hi, Candy." She said, her voice sounding brittle. I was totally gobsmacked. She would have probably seen the kiss, and well...

"Hello, Natalie." I nodded at her, finding my voice. She gave me a simple, broken smile as she congratulated me.

"Why are you congratulating me?" I asked, shocked at my voice again. What's going on? She looked at the ground and gave me another weak smile, while saying,"You won..."

And then I felt my knees wobble. Is Natalie really thinking I tried to fight her? There wasn't even a fight!

"What do you mean?" I asked, gathering my thoughts.

"You won, you have Lucas!" She said shrugging, as her eyes started to water. "In just two weeks, you got him. You have him now, Candy. He's all yours!" She added.

"There wasn't even a fight, Natalie. He's ... yours!" I said, feeling stupid.

She just shook her head, and walked out of the hall with that. I stood still with my mouth open wide. Now I was the one feeling bitchy.

I took a seat as a rush of emotions came through me. Natalie, she was with Lucas since the start as I heard. She liked him, a lot. And Lucas betrayed her, for me?

Not all barbies are bitchy...

I was still seated playing with my phone, when Nathan came and joined me. I smiled at him and he returned one.
Looking at his features, as his dark brown hair was tousled and his twinkling green eyes had a hidden emotion inside them, I asked him bluntly.

"Why are you in black? I didn't expect to see a man like you with no date."
To this his eyes shot up to me and he smiled, "Well I was out of the country and just reached back 4 hours ago and came directly to the party, Didn't have time to arrange a date." He shrugged, not making eye contact.

My phone buzzing violently took my attention, and I checked to see the caller ID.
Sam.

I picked the phone as I clicked the button and pressed it to my ear. First, I heard lots of squealing, babbling, and then Sam finally decided to speak in human language.

"Do you know what's on TV?"

"Um, Don't tell me I'm missing out any more of Alex Pettyfer's interviews! Gosh I want this man to fire-"

"It's you! You and Lucas! Kissing! Oh my god Candy!" My eyebrows shot up as my eyes grew wide. I could hear the reporter stating, "Well here in this picture we can see Lucas Banks, son of Richard Banks, and the hottest teenage sensation kissing Candy Lockwood, the daughter of Mason Lockwood. Oh the heirs of the billionaires. Lucas Banks, the famous player, playing with the daughter of another billionaire, lets see how will it turn out. Kim on the other line will match their horoscopes-"

Shocked, I ended the call and started to hyperventilate. Nathan noticed and asked me. I told him about the news and he shrugged like its a normal thing.

"It's not normal, Nathan! It's on news... everyone will know though it's not even real!"

Nathan finally after a long time made eye contact with me and asked, "Are you sure it's not real?"

I looked at my hands and started to fiddle, eyebrows furrowed.
Nathan sighed."May I have a dance with you?" He asked, smiling naturally. I accepted his offer and joined him.

He placed his right hand on my back, but I didn't wince at his warm touch as I did when Lucas did the same. He placed my hands on his shoulder but I didn't feel the tingles as I felt when Lucas did the same. As he made eye contact with me, I couldn't keep it with him but did when Lucas did the same.

We started swaying to the music, and I tried my best to keep up with him.

After all this, I know it's Lucas, it's only him. But, it's not right to be with him.

As everyone started to leave, I started advancing towards the gate. The air fanned me as my hair flew. I smiled as I felt like I was in some movie.

As I started to walk towards the limo where the chauffeur was waiting, someone grabbed my waist and pulled me into their chest. I looked up to meet a pair of emerald eyes.

Lucas.

"No goodbye kiss, hobo?" He said smirking at me.
I stared at him. As much as his lips tempted me, the words I heard a while ago came back, stabbing me right in the heart.

"No, Lucas Banks, the famous player. To be clear, that kiss didn't mean anything to me. So if you would please excuse me and stop invading my personal space."

With that, I blinked back the wetness in my eyes, and pulled myself out of his grasp.

Doesn't feel right, doesn't look right.
But, I have to avoid the Banks.
