It was finally time for me to come home. After graduating I was so relieved to be heading back. I already applied for multiple jobs at multiple companies in Seoul. It's always been my dream to produce music at one of the major companies in Korea. Sunggyu was also excited to move back, especially into our new place he found. The majority of our stuff was shipped over weeks in advance due to his excitement.
I smiled at the now empty apartment that I have been living in for the past few years. So many memories were built here, bad and good. Part of me is sad to leave, but the other is happy to begin a new life back home, with all my old and new friends. Sunggyu's friends had already left, along with Jiho's. The majority of them have decided to live together, which I thought was cute. Jiho, Sunggyu and I will be leaving today, however. We wanted to spend a last night and have fun, as a way of saying goodbye to this place.
I glanced at my phone and saw that it was almost time to leave. I turned to leave the apartment, and went to turn in my keys to the landlord. When I got outside, I saw Sunggyu and Jiho waiting, with our bags, in front of the cab.
Sunggyu turned around, "Oh, there you are. You ready to go, jagi?"
I nodded with a smile, "Yup, let's go."
We got into the cab and headed towards the airport. I looked out the window and watched the sky pass by. Sunggyu grabbed my left hand and squeezed. I looked towards him and smiled. I glanced down at our hands, noticing the ring. My eyes softened at the sight of it, before turning back to Sunggyu.
"So, what should we do first, when we get back?" Jiho broke the silence.
"Hmmm, I was thinking you guys could meet my friends and then we could all go out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants. And then get settled into our new places. That sound good?" I asked.
"Sounds like a plan," Jiho smiled.
Sunggyu laughed, "I feel like you actually thought this out."
"Heh, maybe," I laughed in response.
On the way to the airport we talked about our memories in the places we passed on the way there. When we arrived we got a bit separated before meeting back up at the gate before the flight boarded. When we did board, I got the window seat, with Sunggyu sitting next me, and Jiho sitting in the row next to us. This flight was going to be long. I was starting to get sleepy so I leaned on Sunggyu and closed my eyes, as we began to take off.
After hours of endless flying, I woke to hear the pilot say that we were arriving soon, in a couple of hours. I must have been really tired, I slept the majority of the flight. I lifted my head to find a sleeping Sunggyu, and a very awake Jiho.
Jiho whispered, "Hey, how'd you sleep?"
"Good thank you," I replied with the same quietness.
He smiled at me, before going to play on his phone. I lifted up the window sill, and looked at the sky passing us by. The clouds looked so much closer, I mean they are, but I never realized how beautiful they are, or the fact that our world is so small. Wow I'm cheesy. Meh, at least I'm the good kind of cheesy...I think.
A couple more hours passed, and the plane finally was landing in Incheon. We left at 8 am, and now it's 4 pm. Timezones are weird. It's midnight where we just came from, when it's already close to evening the next day in Korea. I sighed in my tiredness, and sluggishly got off the plane, followed by a very tired Sunggyu, and an excited Jiho. Heading towards the entrance of the airport, I was looking for my brother and my best friends. As I was looking, I spotted my favorite colored balloons, with the sign that says "Welcome Home." I saw Ren looking around, before he spotted me. We both smiled wide. I began to ran towards him, and hugged him tight.
I'm home.
