Chapter 7
"Hero, listen very carefully," Jane whispers. "We are not in the right place for me to tell you answers to your questions. We must leave." Her voice is barely classified as a whisper now.
"We can go to my house." I take her hand and drag her out of the house. We get into the car as the house goes up in flames. Ding! I look down at my phone,Consider that a warning, Dobou!
"No. Not again." I whisper. Of course my Aunt and her wolf like hearing hears me.
"What do you mean 'not again'?" I look over at her.
"I'll tell you when we get to my house. As you said, this isn't the best place to talk." I take out my aviators and rush out of the driveway.

"Where's Anne!" I call out once we enter the building. Everyone comes rushing into the room.
"She's upstairs." Victor states. Ryder and Tyler instead run up to me and look for any sign of injuries.
"Are you okay?" I roll my eyes.
"I'm fine. I swear." I tell them. They nod their heads and walk out of the room. I gesture Jane through the house and up to Anne's room. I knock twice on the door.
"Who is it?" Anne's voice rings out through the door.
"Hero. I need your help." I lean my head on the door when I hear shuffling. The door swings open.
"What do you need?" She asks.
"I need you to trace something. And you can't tell anyone." I lower my voice on the second part. Her eyes widen and she looks behind me seeing Jane. She quickly urges us inside, shuts and locks the door before turning back to me.
"What do you need to be traced?"
"A text." I sit on her bed. She walks toward her computer.
"A text? That's easy."
"Anne, this isn't an ordinary message." I say, looking down at the ground. She turns to look at me.
"Who's she?"
"My Aunt." I state. Her eyes nearly pop out of her head.
"What!"
"Anne, relax." I stand up and head towards her.
"Hero, why did you bring her here?"
"Well, she's going to answer some questions. However, her house blew up right after we stepped out so she's probably gonna stay with us for a bit." I look toward my Aunt.
"It blew up! And then you got the text I take it." I nod "Of course." She turns back to her computer and holds out her hand for my phone. I take it out and open up to my messages before handing it to her. She plugs it into some sort of plug that connects to the motherboard of the device and looks into the specific app that you have open.
"Wow." She makes a low whistling sound, looking at a whole bunch of green print across her screen. "If you want this traced, I'm gonna need her help." Anne says.
"Anne. She said she didn't want to be dragged into this."
"Well. Than you're screwed." She spins toward me in her chair.
"I'll ask her, okay? I just... start on the data and I'll get her here." Anne smiles, obviously proud with her self.
I go down to my office and dial the number on my landline. It rings a few times before she picks up.
"Hero?"
"Kim. We need your help. ASAP." I say into the phone.
"I told you no more gang stuff."
"I know but this is something putting everyone I care about in danger. Including you and your family." There's silence on the other end before she huffs.
"What do I need to bring?" I fist pump the air.
"Just bring your equipment and come straight to Anne's room. No questions. The back door will be unlocked." I hang it up after giving my biddings and head back up the flight of stairs to Anne's room.
I open the door a smidge and slip through.
"She's on her way."
"Phew. I got almost everything up to the part of where it came from and where it is now."
"Anne? What happens if it's a decoy?"
"Like a burner phone?" I nod. "That could possibly be it but if it is, I can trace to where they got it, who they are and so on."
"But you'll still need the extra help."
"Bingo." There's a tap on the window. I go over and see Kim sitting on the fire escape, breathless, with all her stuff. I open the window.
"I told you to come through the back door."
"That would cause way too much questions first of all. Secondly, This is just so much easier." I narrow my eyes. I open my mouth to say something but shut it just as fast, waving my hand to dismiss it. She smiles and tosses her stuff onto Anne's bed. As she climbs into the room, she locks gazes with my Aunt for a second, freezing when her second foot hits the ground.
"Jane?" Kim says.
"Kim?" My Aunt looks unbelieving. Kim takes slow, cautious steps toward Jane.
"You two know each other?!" I exclaim, butting into their little reunion.
"Hero, my dad worked at the station. Remember?" Kim raises an eyebrow. I mentally facepalm.
"Your dad's the one that wrote the files." I make the connection. She nods.
"When Jane came and dropped off the files I was talking with my dad in the lobby. I went with them into his office when he started writing the notice and Jane and I started talking." I looked between the two.
"When the hell did this happen?!" Kim shrugged and looked at my Aunt.
"I was around 5 years old so probably a few months before I met you." She turns to me. "So, why did you need me here so fast?" I point at Anne.
While Anne and Kim start working on the text, I pull my Aunt aside.
"I want to see those files." I state. She nods, sadly.
"I know." She whispers.
"You two keep working; we're gonna go look at the files." We start toward the door before changing our mind and turn around, going through the window.
