Chapter 11
After eating dinner, everyone met up at the meeting room.
"Hero, what's the plan?" Anne asks once she's through the doorway. I look around the room.
"Well, that's why we're all here; to come up with ideas." I reply.
"You don't have one, do you." Anne asks. I open my mouth but not a noise is made. I sigh and shut it.
"No." I reply honestly. Everyone sighs and lowers their heads. I look around the table. "Well, this is the part where you guys start saying ideas." I state. Victor looks up.
"Hero, maybe we shouldn't be messing with these guys. I mean, they are our rivals and they killed your family after an interesting threat." He points out. I scoff at him.
"Victor, are you scared?" I say dramatically. He rolls his eyes.
"No. I'm just saying that they're obviously dangerous." I start laughing.
"Victor, their a gang. Of course their going to be dangerous." I state between laughs. He crosses his arms.
"Fine then, you're the leader. Lead."

"Alright guys, remember the plan." Everyone nods. We all get out of the van as Anne unlocks the doors and heads to the computer set in the back. Nods come from everyone.
"Wait, let's go through it one more time." Ryder takes precaution. I chuckle as I start to go through it.
"Alright, so Victor, Josh and I are going to head in through the back. Once we get in and to the leaders, we'll signal you to come in. Only then are you allowed to enter. Got it?" Ryder takes a minute to process the idea before nodding. I turn to Vic and Josh.
"You guys ready?" I ask. They look at me and nod. We grab our choice in weapons and head 'round the back of the building. With the sun still high in the sky, the surrounding evergreens give the perfect shade for us to sneak around under.
Nearing the door, we begin to hear shouting from a deep, booming voice. It's not that clear until we reach the bushes in front of the entrance.
"What do you mean she's not there?!" The voice says.
"Greg. She wasn't there, nor her brothers." Another voice states. My mouth drops as I peek over the bush.
Greg, as in Greg Santiago. I never pictured him like this though. With his hair and little specks of grey forming in his sideburns as well as his facial structure, all the way to how he stands, is all too familiar.
"Than find her!" Greg yells into the younger male's face.
"Yes, Mr. Santiago." He sighs as Greg turns to enter the building.
"One more thing Chuck," Greg says over his shoulder.
"Yes sir?" Chuck replies hopefully.
"If you let me down again, I will personally kill you." With that Greg walks into the building with a noticeable smirk on his face.
Chuck stands stone still with his mouth agape. He sighs and turns to the forest with his hands stuck in his jean pockets. I take in his defined features throughout the leaves of the bush. He continues to look around for a while before heading inside. Vic, Josh and I wait a few seconds before proceeding towards the doorway.
"There's a code." Victor states when he approaches it. I dial Anne and put in an earpiece.
"Anne." I say, testing the device in my ear.
"Hero? What's the matter?" Anne answers.
"There's a high-tech lock on the back door, think you can brake it?" I ask. I hear faint typing before the lock before me pops and sparks fly.
"I can do more than that." She states. I chuckle and send my thanks as we all move into the dark hallways of the building. Victor pulls out a flashlight after I shut the door.
"Alright, first we find Greg. But we have to make sure he doesn't see us so that we can have the upper hand." The guys nod. I look between the two of them a few times before stepping in front and taking the first left in the hallway.
