Chapter 6
I stare at my Aunt as she shakes her head. "I don't know." She says. I make my way to the opposite side of the floor with the knives in place.
Being in a gang I know how to sneak up on someone without them noticing so this will be easy. Hopefully.
I ease myself to my feet and stalk toward the first man.
I cover his mouth with one hand and with the other grip his head and tun it in the other direction, snapping his neck and killing him instantly. I silently put his body on the ground and start for the next one.
"Jane. Your brother was the best one in the Undertakers gang, and now, I am going to take his place. So if you could just cooperate with me it would make it so much easier to take his place." Jack says in an authoritative voice. My Aunt doesn't even blink. She gets into his face and and whispers, "You really want to know where she is?" When he nods, she urges him closer. When she gets beside his ear, I take the gun from the other man, who must've been Ric, and aim it to Jack's forehead area. Jane takes a breath and whispers, "She's right behind you." With that she ducks down and Jack turns his head toward me, reaching for his gun but he's too slow for I have already shot him directly in the middle of the forehead.
His lifeless body drops to the ground and I let go of the gun as well. I take the knife out of my mouth finally and go cut off the ropes tying my Aunt, making her defenceless.
"Jane, are you alright?" I ask as I help her up. She nods.
"The real question is, are you alright?" She looks me in the eyes. I nod.
"Aunt Jane, that isn't the first person I've had to kill in order to save someone's life." I point out. She chuckles to herself.
"You certainly are your father's daughter." She shakes a finger in the air.
"Jnae. Can I ask you some questions about my parents?" She looks over he shoulder at me.
"Of course dear, what do you want to know?"
"Well, for starters, what they were like." I shrug.
"They were nice people. Always gave to the less fortunate."
"Yet they were in a gang?"
"Hero, not all monsters do monstrous things. Now, next question."
"Why did they really die." She looks at me weirdly. "You said that I was being hunted for the fortune but never said anything about that being why they died." I point out. She smiles and nods.
"Because it's not."
