They hopped on their bikes and rode back to Sheila's house, without saying a word to anyone. But they all had the same question going through their minds right now.
"What the hell is going on?"
Once they arrived, they parked their bikes and went upstairs and into Sheila's room.
"I am not leaving until we figure this out," Brody stated as he threw his backpack into the corner of Sheila's room.
Everyone got comfortable and went to the one place they could definitely find answers. The internet. Brody, Sheila, and Max used their phones as Christine used the laptop. And Christine was the first person to find something.
"Hey, guys?"
"What?" They all replied.
"Dylan's social media accounts..." Christine began to say as she switched to different tabs, each with its own social media account on it. "...are GONE?!?"
"No way?" Max stated as he began to open up his social media websites.
"Yes way. They are all deleted. Not a single trace of him." Brody stated as he too was going onto the websites.
"Look at all these posts!" Sheila exclaimed as she showed everyone the one website. "Where's @DylanSamm ?" She read. "@DylanSamm where u at?" S continued. "@DylanSamm what is the wrong?" Sheila paused. "Wow! These have some really bad typos."
"Sheila! Now's not the time to criticize people's frantic typing!" Brody announced.
"Sorry..." Sheila apologized but then an idea struck her. "Wait! I think I might know where to find some answers." She announced as she ran over to the laptop.
"Wait! Did Dylan have any siblings?" Max asked.
"THat's exactly what I was thinking. He has one sister, Jackie Samm. She might know what happened to Dylan." Sheila responded as she pulled up Jackie's social media account. Everyone gathered around the laptop.
"Oh look! She posted just a few minutes ago." Christine pointed out.
"Live Chat in 30 minutes. Dylan is the topic." It read.
"Well someone get some snacks. Our questions will be answered."
A half hour later, the four of them crowded around the laptop, with the bowl of chips at their side.
They waited for a few minutes for Jackie to post and say that she was live, and finally she did. The four of them were the first to join. Within seconds, there were over five million people watching.
"Wow! That didn't take long!" Jackie stated, shocked by the number of people. "Now, main discussion, my brother." She began.
"Yes! Some answers!" Max exclaimed, hoping for some good news.
"First let me stated how I found out about this. My phone began to ring at about 6 A.M. this morning. Usually, I would let it ring, but it wouldn't stop. It obviously meant that something was wrong, I figured it was my mom telling me that my grandpa wasn't doing well, but it wasn't and honestly, I wish it was that." Jackie said.
"Oh no. Now you know that something is definitely is wrong." Sheila stated as she reached for a chip out of the bowl.
"Anyways, I got out of bed and grabbed my phone to realize that it was Adrian. Adrian was Dylan best friend and they spent almost every day together if you didn't know. Then I answered my phone, and Adrian was a wreck. He was sobbing and asking me if I knew where Dylan was, or if I talked to him recently, which I responded with 'no'. He was out of the country, in a different time zone, and got a notification saying that Dylan uploaded a video titled 'I Quit' or something. He asked me if I saw it, which I replied 'no it's 6 A.M. here.' Next, he said he was sorry he forgot and he was really worried. He told me to go check on Dylan and tell him to call him. I told him everything is fine I will go check on him it later and I told him that his video was probably just a prank. He said I don't think it's a prank, to watch the video, and call him when I find Dylan. Then the call ended." Jackie paused as she sipped her water.
"That's awful!" Christine stated.
"Poor Adrian!" Max cried.
"After the call ended, there was one thing to do. I had to watch the video. I know how my brother I and sometimes he was a prankster, so I didn't take Adrian's warning too seriously. But, once Dylan's video finished..." Jackie paused again, trying to hold back her tears. "...I knew that something had happened to him. I mean, if he wasn't answering anyone's phone calls, by the way, I called him ten times that day and no answer, and he had a video like that, something seriously went down that no one saw." Jackie explained. During this, no one online said anything. The chat was completely empty until this one kid joined. His username was @aj_123. He was the only one typing in the chat, it said the same thing each time.
"PUT ME ON THE SCREEN I HAVE BIG NEWS ABOUT DYLAN!!!!"
After he spammed this for a minute or two, Jackie finally noticed it was the same guys and put his face up on the screen. Everyone who was watching had Jackie on the right of their screen and @aj_123 on their left. He was clearly sitting at his desk in his room, in front of his laptop camera, which was poor quality.
"Hi, Aj!" Jackie greeted.
"Hey, Jackie! Sorry about your brother's...uh...change." Aj replied. He was like any awkward, antisocial teenager. He had huge black glasses and black hair. He also had bangs that were almost covering his eyes. He was wearing a black t-shirt, obviously promoting some rock band, but the camera quality was too blurry you could barely tell what the shirt read.
"Thanks.." Jackie stated then paused, "So, what was it you had to say about my brother?" She asked.
"Oh yeah! Sorry!" Aj apologized as if he forgot why he was the live chat in the first place.
"Come on, kid! Tell us what you know, damn it!" Brody yelled out, losing his patience a tad.
"So, remember last week when Dylan posted that 'Creepy Theories' video? Well, it had a lot of stuff in it kind of being mean about the government, saying how they are hiding all this crazy shit from us and all that." Aj paused but only for a second. "I think the government had something to do with Dylan's 'changes.'
"What?!?" Almost everyone watching that live chat, including Jackie, stated in unison.
"Now here is the info to back up my claim." Aj began to speak again. "At the end of all his videos, he has that blue screen that pops up stating 'Share' and 'Comment'. After that, the video is completely over, right? But for this particular "Creepy Theories" video, there was a few second still left after the screen had disappeared. In those few seconds, Dylan stated..." Aj paused as he looked for the paper with the quote. "'What if I found out stuff I didn't need to know?...Oh well, I should be fine.' See! If you knew something about the government that no one, and I mean no one, needs to know, and the government found out, what do you think they would do to you? I know this definitely seems far-fetched, but what are the chances of him saying that and not even a week later this happened to him?"
Everyone thought about it for a minute, half believed it, half didn't.
"You have a good point, Aj," Jackie stated.
"Thank you." He replied.
"But..." Jackie began to say but paused.
"But...?" Aj asked.
"Since the video was deleted there is no solid evidence of this or your quote being true."
"I know. That's why it is hard to believe and understand since there is no concrete evidence that this could have happened..." Aj and Jackie continued to chat, pointing out the flaws in Aj's theory.
But right then, Sheila slammed the laptop lid shut, got up, and walked towards the window. The three of her friends, shocked by Sheila's actions, all turned around to look at her.
"S? You good?" Brody asked.
"Yeah. I am just thinking." Sheila replied.
"What are you thinking about?" Christine asked.
"I'm thinking about how we get Dylan Samm back."
