After they put everything in the car, they headed toward Dylan's house in California. They sat in silence for a while. Then, eventually, someone spoke.
"Guys...I have to go to the bathroom." Max stated.
"Are you serious? We have only been on the road for twenty minutes!" Sheila pointed out.
"Just pull over on the side of the road and he can go in the woods," Brody told Christine, who was at the wheel.
"What? NO! Are you asking me to go into the woods? Have you even met me? I am NOT going into the woods. There is bugs and trees and nature! Nature and I don't mix! Don't you..." Max rambled on but Christine interrupted.
"Fine! God, Max. We get it. We will go to a fast food place or something." Christine assured Max.
Max took a breath of relief. "Thank you!"
"Look! There's a Wanda's. Is that fancy enough for you?" Brody asked.
"Well...it will do," Max replied.
"Good. Because if you said no I was literally about to punch you in the face." Brody responded.
Everyone laughed as they got off the exit. They pulled into the parking lot of Wanda's. Max ran inside while the others waited in the car.
"So, how much further do we have until we get to Dylan's house?" Brody asked.
"A little over two hours. We should be there right before the sun sets." Christine replied.
"You guys want anything from here?" Brody asked.
"No," Christine responded.
"I'm good," Sheila replied.
A few seconds later, Max was back in the car.
"Let's get back on the road!" Christine announced.
Once they got back on the highway, things started going back to normal, well, almost normal. Everyone was talking to each other like they usually do. Before they knew it, they were in Dylan's town.
"Okay, Max, where is his house?" Christine asked.
"The directions on my phone say to turn left in a mile, then a right, and another right. Once we are on his street, Dylan's house is four houses down." Max replied.
"Great!" Christine thanked Max.
Then, they arrived at Dylan's house. His house was ginormous. It had all these trees and bushes in front of it and a long driveway. As soon as they made it up the driveway, they were greeted by a green metal gate.
"Hold on, I got this," Brody stated as he got out of the car. He hopped the gate and opened it from the other side.
"Since when did you know how to break into places?" Sheila asked concerned but thankful for Brody's actions.
"I watch a lot of movies." He replied.
They drive through the open gate and park the car. Everyone got out of the car. They all stood still, looking at his house.
"Are you guys all internally screaming right now too?" Sheila asked.
"Oh yeah." The three responded in unison.
"Well, we are here, aren't we? What next in the plan?" Christine asked.
"I have no clue. I didn't plan this far ahead because I didn't think we were going to get this far." Max stated.
"Well, you had almost three hours to think of something," Sheila told Max, then turned to Brody. "So, Mr. 'Movie Man'. What happens next in these movies?"
"We obviously look around for clues as to what happened," Brody spoke.
With that, the four kids began to search. They first searched the outside area, including his pool and shed full of pool toys. Nothing. They then check the outside walls of the house, for security cameras. Luckily they found something.
"Guys, get over here! I found something." Sheila shouted from one side of the house. They were cut wires, obviously belonging to a security camera.
"There's got to be more around here," Christine stated.
Sheila and Christine begin to look in every corner and under every object. Max and Brody were fooling around by the pool.
"I bet you twenty bucks that you can't jump over that hot tub," Max told Brody.
"I will take that bet," Brody stated as he got into a running position. "3,2,1, Go!" He shouted as he ran towards the hot tub. Brody ran and missed. He fell in the hot tub, which was more like a cold tub. It was freezing since no one was home to use it.
"Guys! Quit goofing around! We need to..." They began to say but was interrupted by Brody falling in the hot tub.
"Really guys!?!" Christine shouted as she ran towards the two as Brody left the hot tub and ran towards Max, who was laughing hysterically.
"Oh you think that's funny don't you?" Brody stated as he ran towards Max and playfully pushed him. Max accidentally lost balance and fell in the bushes behind him.
"OH shit! Sorry, Max!" Brody apologized.
"Max? Are you okay?" The girls asked.
"Yeah. But I think I found something." Max told them as he reached under the bushes. In his hand was an old security camera.
"Sheila? Can you connect this to your laptop and hack into it?" Brody asked, soaking wet.
"I can try. But it won't be easy." Sheila replied as Max handed her the camera.
Max stood up. But as he did, someone saw them.
"Hey! What are you kids doing here?"
