twenty one

"Skylar, please talk to me." Sophia says and I open my eyes, stretching.

"What time is it?" I yawn and she looks at the clock,

"Five in the morning."

"Why am I up?" I ask and she sits on my bed,

"Let me explain why I didn't tell you." she says and I look at her, "I thought that after me he would've stopped, and if you didn't find out you could still be as happy as you had been before I screwed it up. I'm really, really sorry."

"You guys are all ridiculous." I shake my head, "Let me sleep, Sophia."

"Ever going to accept my apology?"

"I dunno, Sophia! Just let me fricken sleep, alright?!" I exclaim and she puts her hands up, walking back to her bed. I roll my eyes and fall back asleep.

"I'm sorry, I can't lose my twin sister, please forgive me." she says as soon as I wake up,

"Jesus Christ, Sophia. It's okay! I forgive you!" I say and she looks at me,

"No, you do not." she says and I roll my eyes, leaving the room. I walk to Sawyers and go in, sitting on the empty bed,

"Why are you in here?"

"Sophia is bugging me." I respond, opening the mini fridge and grabbing out a water,

"You know they're charged for any drinks you take out?" he says and I shrug,

"I'm heartbroken, it's fine." I respond,

"You don't seem heartbroken."

"I'm just trying not to let it bother me, it was just three years of my life wasted." I respond and grab out my phone,

"Dude, Im trying to sleep!" he throws a pillow at me,

"I'm literally sitting on the bed using my phone, I have no where else to go." I say, "Whatever, I'll go tan." I respond and go change and going to sit on the beach.

Ethan rushes up and sits down beside me, "What's up?"

"Is that all you say to greet a person?" I ask and he shrugs,

"Yeah, obviously." he says, "Not saying that you should forgive him, but are you ever going to talk to Grayson?"

"Not planning on it, no." I say and he sighs, "I don't know why everyone is so surprised by that, he cheated on me. More than once, there's no way I even want to be in his presence let alone talk to him or be friends with him."

"Okay, fine, that is fair."

"Thank you." I say and he runs into the ocean. I lay back down and continue tanning when my phone starts ringing, "Yeah, mom?"

"We're all going to go out to dinner with the Dolan's in a few hours."

"Oh, I'm not feeling too well." I lie,

"Is that why you're tanning on the beach right now?" she asks, "You're going, Skylar."

"Fine." I hang up and continue tanning. After a little bit, I go and swim and then it's eventually time to head back and get ready for dinner. "I'm going to make Grayson see what he's missing, gotta look good." I say and hop in the shower, blow drying my hair when I get out and straightening it. I go through my clothes and choose a romper that Gray said he loved on me. Then, I put on all my favorite makeup and head downstairs to the restaurant where they all sit in the waiting area.

"Finally, what took you so long?" Sawyer says and I shrug as we all head to the table.

"Oh, no, Sawyer get up, let Grayson sit by your sister." my mom says,

"No, mom, that's alright." I sit down and she sighs,

"Sawyer, come on." my mom says,

"Mom..."

"Trust me, mom, I'm doing them a favor." he says and she nods, sitting down.

"So, Grayson, what happened with your eye?" my mom asks and he looks at Sawyer,

"Oh, I um, Ethan kicked me in the eye when we went swimming the other day." he says as Sawyer and I contain our laughter.

"What's so funny guys?" my dad asks and I shake my head,

"He didn't get it from Ethan, he got it from me." Sawyer says,

"Sawyer!" my mom exclaims and everyone looks at him, "Why in the world would you do that?"

"Cause he's been cheating on Skylar for the past year and a half." he scoffs and everyone goes silent, staring at me and Grayson,

"Is-is this true?" Grayson's mom asks and he nods slowly,

"Yeah, it's, uh, it's true." he says and I shake my head,

"Are you kidding me, Grayson. Why are you such a douchebag?" Cam asks, "Ethan, why aren't you flipping out right now?"

"He knew." Grayson says and Ethan runs a hand through his hair and takes a sip of water,

"Who else knew?" my mom asks and I look to Sophia,

"I, uh, I did." she says,

"And you let your sister get involved again despite the fact he hasn't been loyal to her?" she asks and I look back at Sophia with my eyebrow raised,

"I thought maybe after what happened with me that he would stop, maybe they could be happy again." she explains and I roll my eyes,

"Ethan, you let him continue this?" his dad asks and I sigh,

"There was nothing I could do to stop him! It's Grayson, he wouldn't listen anyways." he says, "I tried to get him to fess up but he acted like I was crazy and didn't know what I was talking about."

"Grayson, I'm just wondering what your thought process was when you did all this? And did you tell her or did she find out?"

"I dunno what I was thinking." he responds, "And she kind of walked in on me."

"You were going to do it here?" his mom asks and he nods,

"Can we talk about something else, please? Just anything else?" I ask and it becomes quiet, "Excuse me."

I stand up and rush out of the restaurant, sitting on the bench outside when Grayson walks up, "I'm sorry I put you in that position."

"Yep." I respond and he nods,

"I'll leave you alone, I just wanted to apologize one last time." he says and I nod, "So I'm sorry, I'm a dick."

"Yeah."

"And I'm sorry that I--" he begins and Sawyer and my dad walk up,

"I think it's time you leave her alone, Grayson." my dad says and Grayson nods, walking away. "You okay, kiddo?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I nod,

"And Sawyer, don't tell your mom I said this, but nice punch." he says and I chuckle as Sawyer nods, "Let's go eat because they have good food in this place."
